'But does Rhode love Allen-kun?' Linali said.
Lavi paused in his monologue of the events in the ark. Allen covered his eyes with a hand, and Kanda grumbled.
'It's possible,' Lavi said. 'I for one have a very deep and meaningful love of food.'
'Deep?' Linali said, and 'Meaningful?' added Kanda. Allen looked up and said in faint tones 'Food?'
'Gut-level,' Lavi said to Linali. Then: 'Food probably isn't the right comparison. Entertainment, perhaps...'
'Entertainment,' Allen repeated blankly. Kanda looked at him with no sympathy whatsoever; Linali sighed. Lavi patted his back.
'Cheer up,' he said. 'It could be worse.'
'Well, yes,' Allen muttered. 'It could be food.'
