A/n: for a friend's birthday!

Review please!

The day started off slow, lessons dragged; when the final lesson ended I thought I could jump for joy. I ran out of the classroom as quickly as I could, hearing a "Be careful Potter!" thrown after me by the uncaring teacher that had just bored me for the past hour or so. I got to the portrait of the fat lady in record time and said the password, "in a rush?" she asks but I had no time to answer, I had to get out onto the quidditch pitch before she got there. I changed as quickly as I could not even bothering to put my shirt on properly before I walked out of the door and down the stairs, before I got out of the door Ron walked in, "Whoa Harry!" he said "Where are you going in such a hurry?" I didn't answer and just tried to get around him, he wouldn't let me. "Move Ron!" I said through gritted teeth, I had to make sure I was there before he, so she didn't think I'd stood her up. "Oh your taking Hermione flying today aren't you? Good luck with that, she hates it, you never know you could get lucky with her" he says with a wink, I grin at him as I manage to get around him and walk out the door.

I'm down at the quidditch pitch quicker than lightning. I get my broom from the changing room and fly around while waiting for Hermione to turn up, I wait about ten minutes before I see curly brown hair on the pitch below. I dive down as fast as I can, wanting to impress her with my skills, "Harry!" she squeals as I narrowly miss the floor "you could've hurt yourself!" she says worry lacing her voice "but I didn't did I?" I say arrogantly. "No you weren't…but that was just pure luck"

"Come on Hermione are you gonna stand around here all day or are you gonna get on this broom with me and have the time of your life?" I say extending my hand out towards her. She hesitates, "do you trust me?" I say and she nods, she grabs my hand and I pull her onto the broom behind me, she winds her arms around my waist and holds on tight, her face buried into my back. "It's okay Hermione," I say soothingly, "we're only hovering"

She takes a shaky breath and utters the only word I need to hear "Go" I kick off the ground and slowly ascend into the air, I lean forward slightly on the broom and we're off, flying over the grounds of Hogwarts. It feels like eternity that we're in the air together; then again any time spent alone with Hermione is a blessing to me. She's my best friend and my first love. That's right, I Harry Potter, am in love with Hermione! I need to tell her soon, but I don't know how too.

As we return to the quidditch, a bush catches my eye, it has the prettiest white flowers and when I see them an idea comes to me.

We land back on the pitch and Hermione slowly removes her arms from around my waist. "Thank you Harry, that wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be." She says her eyes maintaining contact with mine, they were the brightest shade of brown, and I could get lost in the forever "No problem "I hear myself say she smiles sweetly at me then turns to walk away, "Hermione wait," I call" let me put my broom away and we can walk back to the common room together"

"I'd like that" was all she said.

I throw my broom roughly into the cupboard, not wanting Hermione to have to wait outside on her own for long; she might go if I don't hurry up.

The walk back to the castle went too quick for me; I wish we could stay together just us two, forever. if she feels the same way as I do, I will show her just how much she means to me, I will tell her each night just how much I love her. I will prove it to her every day.
