In the summer of 1997, an LAPD officer known as Lieutenant Mike Harrigan encountered an extraterrestrial life form known as a Predator. He climbed down a building and into the underground to fight the Predator. There in the alien's lair was a collection of skulls. Among them was an Alien skull.
After Harrigan killed the Predator, a handful of other Predators uncloaked themselves. They were impressed. They gave Harrigan a flintlock pistol taken from Raphael Adolini in 1715. The Predators took off in their ship. Special Agent Peter Keyes met up with Mike on the surface.
"Goddamn it!" Keyes said. "We came so close!"
Mike gave the pistol to Peter.
"Don't worry, asshole. You'll get another chance."
FRIDAY AUGUST 29th, 1997
For fifteen days, Skynet had been self-aware. Now, it was time for the future. Nuclear missiles were launched. Explosions happened all over the world.
Among the people who survived the attack by running to the bunker were Mike Harrigan and Peter Keyes. Keyes revealed something he knew that Mike did not.
"Years ago, a woman in some asylum named Sarah Connor said a guy from the future told her that some machines would start something called Judgment Day."
"Judgment Day?" Harrigan said.
"Yes. In 1984, an Austrian-looking man tried to kill a woman named Sarah Connor."
"What happened?"
"I think she might have killed it."
"It?"
"She said it wasn't human. When she was put in an asylum, she said that the man was a machine from the future. He was going to kill her so that she wouldn't give birth to her son, John. Sarah said that her son was destined to save mankind. Right now, he'd probably be about twelve. We don't know where he is. Sarah escaped the asylum in 1995 and probably took John with her. It's up to us to lead now."
Together, Keyes and Harrigan would form one of the first groups of surviving humans willing to fight the machines that Skynet created. They had to fight if they wanted to continue to survive.
Judgment Day only affected Earth.
