Finding Rose a Man

She gave me a strange look as she walked into the room.

"Spit it out Liss."

"Rose have you ever thought about dating again?"

I used her brief hesitation as an opening.

"I mean you've been kind of keeping to yourself ever since . . ."

"Ever since Mason died," she finished heavily.

"Yeah," I said evasively. "Have you ever thought of anyone like . . . Like Eddie?"

"He's Mason's best friend!"

"He was Mason's best friend," she flinched. "And just because he was that doesn't mean you don't deserve to be happy."

"Liss," she said tiredly. "If I want to meet a guy I'll meet a guy. Until then I'm fine going solo. But I don't need you worrying about me right now."

"Okay," I said, dejectedly. "But when you want to meet one Adrian's available."

She rolled her eyes.

"Goodnight Liss. Thanks for understanding."

I nodded watching her leave. Someday, somehow we're going to find a guy that you love who loves you back, I thought. I saw her shake her head slightly before the door closed.
