Emily
My name is Emily. I'm just your average trouble making, music loving fifteen year old. I don't think I can say much more than that. You see, we can't tell you who we are, or where we live. It's too risky. And we have to be careful. Real careful. So we don't trust anyone. Because if they find us… Well we just won't let them find us.
The thing you should know is that everyone is in really big trouble. Yeah. Even you.
I guess I was the one who has accepted this whole mess the most. If I didn't, then I probably wouldn't be writing about it, would I? I would be sitting on my bed in my room, trying to drown out my own thoughts with the beats and drops of dubstep. But no. I have to get this all out of my head, or I think my brain will explode from stress.
Learning that you have to save the earth from aliens is pretty stressful.
It all started two days ago when Wyatt, Nora, Dustin, Gabby, Cole and I were taking a slow walk in the woods behind Wyatt's house. The sky was fading from its normal baby blue color to a midnight black, and the stars dotted the wide space above the clouds. We spread out among the tall oak trees that had begun to gain their leaves back. Nora and I got far out enough that our large campfire was just a flicker of light floating out in the distance.
"So, Blondie, what are we doing out here again?" Dustin asked. His gaze was hot on the back of my neck.
I think we, this little band of misfits, have known each other since fifth grade. Nora, my best friend and our little computer junkie. Dustin, our dry-humored hottie with a body. Wyatt, our brunette sweetheart with a love for animals. Gabby, Dustin's beautiful, hard-headed sister with a wicked temper. And Cole, the mysterious oddball transfer student from Australia. I haven't gotten to know him as much as the others, but for now he's okay with me.
"Wyatt's looking for his arrow." I replied, scanning each tree closely.
Wyatt's attention was turned towards me. "My sister lost it this morning when shooting. I need to find it before my dad gets home tomorrow morning."
"Why did you wait until it was dark?" Gabby groaned. "The moon is not going to give us much light."
"I'm sorry. You guys kept me busy today and I didn't have the time. Now stop complaining and help me find this thing." Wyatt said, and continued forward.
(Please, come closer.)
I stopped right in my tracks. A dark, soft voice was talking to me. I seriously didn't hear that with my own ears. And none of us have that type of voice. I knew I was going crazy.
(I'm not a threat.)
For a few more moments, I froze, listening for the voice again.
By the looks on everyone's faces, I'm sure they heard it too.
And that's when I noticed a deep blue glowing light out of the corner of my eye.

Sorry for the slow and short start. It will get better, I promise.
