Authors Note- In the beginning chapters of this story (not sure on the actual number) I have no knowledge on the Two Towers...yet.
Chapter one- Deception of the Stars
She gently pushed the doors outward before her, whisking herself upon the stone crafted balcony. A cool night breeze lightly rustling her long hair. It was a beautiful night, as always, nothing less was ever expected. The midnight sky was decorated with millions of bright jewels. Moonlight glistening over the courtyard below, illuminating a figure that was standing there. One that was more intriguing than the sky above. Smiling to herself, she departed from the balcony and headed to the courtyard.
Standing behind him, silent as the grave, he did not know of her presence. Not until she spoke, " and to think rangers were always alert".
He was startled, but only a little, gazing from the stars to her as she walked into the moons rays. " Lady of Ithilien" he kindly greeted.
" Do not refer to that as my name" she softly pleaded, stepping closer to him, " you have the habit of my name".
" Only before your marriage, your recent marriage".
She sighed, him using the tome to encourage her coldness, "Aragorn, you've called me Eowyn since the day we met each other, now vows I have said should change what you and I have".
Aragorn was next to take a step that would close more of the distance between them, " I believe it does, whether we choose to believe it or not, it can't take away or add any harm".
Eowyn gazed down at her feet, and his, silently disagreeing, " it's not fair to either of us".
His infamous shrug, "the heart does not act through what is fair".
" I wish it did".
" Myself more than you".
She felt her fingers tremble in her own anticipation of what was to be said next, " though some kind of twisted faith has destined my heart to have changed in appearance, my mind could never. I still have the same thoughts of you Aragorn, and you are the only one to remain knowing that".
He hesitated at first, " with all fairness Eowyn, perhaps I was the only one who knew from the beginning".
Eowyn weakly nodded, " yes, but I am one of many who knows of your feelings for Lady Arwen, they're all too true, aren't they?".
" Possibly".
She smiled, the sweet smile she always had that lingered her thoughts, " good night Aragorn" she was the one who quickly ended their conversation in an improper fashion. To tell the truth, she only wanted to end the agony before it was too late to get out.
Aragorn could sense it in her, though chose not to say anything that would further torment her, " good night Eowyn" a replica of what she said and how she said it, the best he could uncover in a matter of seconds.
Eowyn left the same way she came, leaving him where he was once standing alone. Aragorn placed his concentration once again on the sky, where he had already been thinking about her. As wrong as it was, he wasn't thinking about the consequences. His thoughts were his own.
Unfortunately, he was not sure how to predict the turmoil that would erupt sooner than what was thought.
Another Authors Note- I know this is really short, but I want to make sure the idea goes well. Then I can make the chapters longer.
