Mixed Dimensions
The only thought Ella had was to get away from her mother, to run away. She never dreamed that she would end up in another world all together.
Disclaimer: Ella belongs to me, as does everyone else in her world. Harry's world belongs to Rowling.

Ella picked up the phone and waited to hear the dial tone before she started dialing her best friends number. She was taking a risk, using the house phone, but she didn't have any credit left on her mobile phone. Growing impatient, Ella began pacing along the only bare wall of her small room. After more than a minute, the phone was picked up on the other end.
"Dytom household, Alexis speaking."
"Lex, it's me. I need your help."
"Sure, El. What kind of help?"
"I'm going slingshot. Tonight. You'll back me?"
"Of course. What time?"
"Two hours?"
"Got you. El? Be careful."
"Always."
Ella hung up the phone, and listened for a moment to check that no one had overheard the conversation. Satisfied that no had, Ella opened the door to her room again, and called out goodnight to her mother. The only reply she got was a grunt that sounded like it came from the kitchen. No doubt her mother was sitting in front of the old TV, a half empty bottle of vodka in her hand. It had been more than three years since Ella's father had run away, taking Ella's two brothers with him, leaving Ella alone with her alcoholic mother. Ella thought that it was about time she joined them.
Half an hour later, her mother asleep on the floor of the kitchen, Ella pulled her stuffed backpack out of her closet, and dumped it on her bed. It had been filled with a couple of pairs of clothes, as well as numerous keepsakes, and a selection of her favourite books. There had been no room to fit in everything that she wanted, and so she'd already transferred another bag of her things to Alexis's house the week before. Without leaving a note, Ella walked out of her old house. She hoped with all of her heart that she would never have to go back there again.
If took Ella fifteen minutes to reach the main highway in her town, and she knew that it would take her over an hour minutes to walk out to Alexis's place. This was the only bad thing about her plan, if Gavin drove by on his way home from work, he would see her, and take her home. Ella tilted her head towards the sky, and prayed to God that Gavin didn't get off early. If he did...
A car heading toward Ella swerved off the road, and the driver lost control. There was no way for Ella to get out of the way in time, and the last thought that ran through her head was 'Please, God, don't let me survive.'

Ella could see nothing through the dark veil that lay over her eyes. She tried to move her arms, to lift the veil off, but her limbs refused to work. It took her a moment then to realise that it wasn't a veil over her eyes, and she struggled to open them to see what was wrong with her body. But her eyes refused to open, and her body refused to co-operate. Her mind stirred in confusion, wondering what had happened to her, before she remembered her escape plan. Groaning inwardly, Ella prayed that her mother hadn't found out just yet. Before she could think any further, a male voice broke the silence.
"Harry, why the hell is there a first year girl in your bed?"

Don't worry, I'll explain things in due time.
