Soul Decision

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha, that honor goes to Rumiko-sama and her genius.

Kagome's feelings on her incarnation and love.

Pain in his eyes as he looks at me. They have come again. Beckoning him to follow them to their master. I know he will go and I know it will cause me pain. He hesitates, looking at me for permission. How can I deny him anything? He loved her first and only cares for me as far as I know. I do not hate her, but pity her. She was torn from eternal rest and forced to wander the world alone, living off of the souls of the dead. She still comes to him, seeking him as long as her soul resides in that man-made body.

When he returns I cannot allow him to see my tears. They will only cause him more pain. He looks at me sometimes, studies me. He thinks I am asleep but I see him. I see an unknown emotion in his eyes yet I dare not name it. How do I know he is not seeing HER when he looks at me? How do I know he is not comparing us? I know he does not see me as a replacement because my incarnation and I are so different. I will stay with him no matter what. I know one day he will have to make a choice and I will accept it, no matter what it is. I wish for his happiness even at the cost of my own. I love him and always will. I will give him all the time he needs. For this era, fifty years have passed since the supposed betrayal and death of the miko and hanyou. Yet for them, only the time since they were awakened have passed. I will stand by for now and wait for his choice. I will continue to love him because my soul calls to his in both its lifetimes with him.

A.N. This was my first attempt at Inuyasha fanfiction although i have several stories swirling around but have yet to write them down. Read and review!! Also, does anyone remember reading a story where Kagome was a retired model hiding from her career and Inuyasha a football player I think. I believe it was called Concealed Beauty. Anyone know what happened to it?
