11:00 p.m.
As the darkness almost consumes the room's entirely, the light is switched on.
Tiffany slams her front door, immediately rushing to the mirror in her dance studio/home. She takes a good look at herself, pacing back and forth. Still, glancing at her reflection with confusion and disappointment.
"Who the fuck is this guy? He thinks he can just inappropriately mention my husband's death, and think it's ok?"
Tiffany grabs her water bottle and drinks a generously long sip.
"Why do I think he is a fucking nut, but still... I have this unexplainable attraction to him.
Dammit Tiffany!
Is he really worth your time?"
As she tries to catch her breath, a look of acceptance devours her face. With one sigh, and a few moments of pacing back and forth in front of the mirror. Tiffany Maxwell knew what she wanted.
"I guess...what the hell! I'll give him a chance. Maybe our craziness will repel off each other, and...hopefully go away. Ha, I've never been one to have hope, but who knows?
I sure as hell don't."
10:00 a.m.
Tiffany wakes up, rolls out of bed, and walks downstairs. As she is brushing her teeth, she has an idea. Pat likes to go on runs, so maybe I should call his mother and ask her when he goes out to run.
So, she walks over to her telephone and calls Pat's house.
How am I going to put this...what should I s-...
"Hello, who may I ask is calling?"
"Hi... Mrs. Solitano? This is Tiffany Maxwell. I'm Veronica's sister."
"Oh, I believe I have heard about you. Pardon me for asking, but why have you called?"
"Oh right! Sorry...Ummm. Well, last night I was with Pat, at Veronica and Ronnie's house for dinner. I'd like to be Pat's friend, and get to know him more. I was wondering if you could tell me when he goes out running. I feel like it would be a good way for us to connect."
Mr. Solitano takes the phone away abruptly.
"Hello! Who is this?"
"Tiffany Maxwell, sir."
"Tiffany Maxwell?"
Mrs. Solitano chimes in, "She wants to run with Pat."
"Run with Pat? Well, why? I hope you have good intentions, and not to be rude, but I've heard you get around a lot...with men."
"Mr. Solitano. All I want is to run with Pat, and become friends with him. Do you know what time he happens to run at?"
"If he won't run with me, he isn't going to run with you. Goodbye."
He angrily hangs up the phone. Mrs. Solitano begins to redial Tiffany's number, once Mr. Solitano leaves the kitchen.
"Hello?"
"Tiffany. It sounds like you have good intentions. Pat is going on his run at 11:00. Have a nice day."
"Thank you, you too."
Tiffany gets a giant grin on her face, and hangs up the phone.
"Let's go for a walk, Tiffany!"
