PROLOGUE
In a cool night of October a mother had an amazing gift of her life; seeing her baby girl for the first time. She was the product of the love she had to a handsome man, who she met a year ago. Thinking of him made her eyes water. How could she have fallen for his charm? He was beautiful yes but, he had a dark secret, a secret she just discovered. And to make things worse he wanted his only daughter to join him. She shuddered at that thought. He would have to get through her first.
Fortunately she had an idea. An idea that would break her heart, but it didn't matter. She had to keep her baby safe. The nice doctor, who helped her through her pregnancy, promised to take care of her baby. She cradled her baby closely and with one last kiss gave her to the doctor.
CHAPTER ONE
The house was empty without the usual footsteps of my parents and two sisters. It felt… well boring. I liked being alone but, at the same time I didn't. I liked cleaning the house and being able to talk to someone, anyone. So instead of talking I sang along to my favorite songs in my iPod. Twitching mentally to whenever I started squeaking, even Snow White, my white Persian cat, looked like she wished I could stop. "Sorry Snow White, if I stop singing then how will I improve?" I said petting her soft fur until she was purring. I let out a big sigh. Today was the last day of summer vacation. The last day with no worries of homework, projects or exams; Snow White stretched letting out a big yawn reminding me that it's also my last day of sleeping late.
I was lost in thought when the phone rang shrilling and demanding, making me jump. I answered on the third ring. "Hello?" I said making it a question. "Hey beautiful, are you free this afternoon?" "Well, hello to you too Cathleen." She laughed. ''Oh April, guess what?!''Cathleen said excitedly. "Uhh…..''I said, already feeling a knot in my stomach. Cathleen was something with surprises. "At work there is some serious eye candy….'' '' You're still at work? I thought you got off early today?'' "Well actually, I'm not working. I'm ''exercising.'' I could see the quotation marks on the word exercising. Cathleen worked part time at a gym named Gold selling protein shakes and power bars. ''Let me guess, you were looking at your eye candy?'' '' Oh April they are so gorgeous! You need to come see them!''Cathleen said squealing. ''Cat ….""I started ''Please? I promise you won't be disappointed'' she said laughing darkly. ''Fine'' I said giggling ''I'll be there in 5'' ''I knew you wouldn't resist , my beautiful buttercup'' Cat crowed. ''What is it with you and name calling?'' '' I don't know. But anyway, hurry!'' '' Right, bye. '' '' Bye. '' I hung up smiling. This better be good Cat, I thought as I left a sticky note on the fridge for my parents.

I went over to visit Cathleen at gold.
