Title: Tangle
Characters: Finduilas, Túrin, Gwindor
Prompt: 001. I'll be just fine, pretending I'm not; I'm far from lonely, and it's all that I've got
Summary: Finduilas struggles with love.
Author's Notes: Ah, love triangles. They're fun to watch, but not so fun to be part of, as Finduilas discovers.

in those days the radiance of Finduilas also became dimmed, her footsteps slow and her face grave… In truth Finduilas was torn in mind. For she honoured Gwindor and pitied him, and wished not to add one tear to his suffering; but against her will her love for Túrin grew day by day, and she thought of Beren and Lúthien. But Túrin was not like Beren! He did not scorn her, and was glad in her company; yet she knew that he had no love of the kind she wished. His mind and heart were elsewhere, by rivers in springs long past.
– Unfinished Tales

There were many things Finduilas wished she could say to Gwindor and Túrin, and 'I love you both' was one of them. She had loved Gwindor when he rode to the Nirnaeth Arnoediad and loved him still, although few others now did. But lately she had caught herself thinking of Túrin as more than a man living among Elves. She had long suspected that the man the Nargothrondrim called Adanedhel was more than a wildman of the woods, and since Gwindor had revealed Túrin's true name and identity, more questions had arisen. Why had Túrin left Dor-lómin? Why did he talk so little of his past?

She felt that she was somehow being unfaithful to both Túrin and Gwindor, a distressing thought. Now easily tired and trying to hide her misery, Finduilas retreated to silence and solitude. As she tried again and again to untangle her emotions, a small part of her wondered if love was always this hard.
