Chapter One: The Football Failure
As Zack and Cody walk into the gym, they immediately knew that they are going to play touch football. They could see everyone wearing pinnies, red and blue. Zack gave a look at Cody, and saw that he was frowning. This made Zack confused. Why didn't Cody like football?
Zack didn't have time to think about it much, because they were heading out side. Zack was on the blue team, as Cody was on the red. Zack's team had one of the best football players on his team, Nick Tillman. Nick was the starting quarterback of the schools team. Cody, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. He had three of the most popular girls on his team, Mackenzie Madore, her twin, Maddie, and their best friend, Heather Charles. They have been trying to look so good for the past 20 minutes that they were just on the sidelines, chatting away.
When the game started, Zack's team scored the first touchdown. Obviously, it was made by Nick. Then, Cody had the ball until Zack ran up behind him, and hit him hard with his hand. Cody got knocked to the ground, but he knew that Zack didn't mean to. Zack got the ball, and then scored another 7 points for the blue team. He did he usually victory dance, and Heather looked at him in the weirdest way. Cody wasn't all that worried, because he knew it was just a game in gym class.
Just before the class was over, Nick threw the ball to Zack. Zack saw the ball hurling towards him, stuck out his hands but at the last second, he missed the ball. The football hit him right in the face, and he fell to the ground with a loud thud. The gym teacher, Mr. Raslyne, ran up to the dead-looking 13-year-old boy.
The next thing Zack knew, he was in the Boston Medical Hospital. Cody was sitting next to him, but he could hardly see him. "Hey, Cody, how come I can barely see you?" Zack asked, confused. Cody replied "Well, when you were hit with the football, your vision got messed up. You also passed out so you had to go to the hospital." "Does this mean that I have to glasses?" Zack questioned. "Yeah. I'm really sorry Zack." Cody stated. The last thing Zack did before the day was over was scream.
