Edward's POV

My thoughts were focused on my changing wife. Bella. My life. I couldn't live without her.

Edward.

Carlisle's thoughts broke into my head.

Someone wants to meet you.

I cleared his thoughts from my mind. I've been hearing that for the last couple hours. I heard Carlisle coming up.

"Edward. She's your daughter. Bella isn't going to awaken for a while. She would want you to meet her," Carlisle said.

"No."

Why?

"I don't know if I'll be a good father," I admitted.

"You'll be fine."

Rosalie came up.

"You won't be a good father if you didn't even meet your daughter." She told me while holding out Renesmee.

I nodded. I got up and walked over to Rose. I took the child. Carlisle and Rose left.

I stared. She stared back. She had my hair color, but Bella's eyes. Her eyes were Bella's. Warm chocolate brown. She was very warm; maybe a couple degrees cooler than Jacob.

She had Bella's skin color too. It seemed as impenetrable as mine.

"Renesmee."I loved saying her name.

I couldn't hate her. She was half of Bella. I couldn't hate what she loved. She put her warm hand on my cheek. An image so clear popped into my mind.

A bottle. Full of blood. She was thirsty.

I turned my wide eyes on her. She smiled. I nodded. Looking around I saw a bottle smelling of human blood by the door.

You're welcome. Rose thought.

I picked up the bottle and gave it to my daughter. She drank eagerly.

She was as beautiful as her mother. So beautiful. Yet, she seemed so impossible.

Half-human, half-vampire. 100% sweet. So far.

She started to close her eyes. Her thoughts were urgent; she didn't want me to leave.

"Don't worry, sweetie. I won't leave." I started to hum a lullaby.

And with that, the child fell asleep.
