History Tends to Repeat Itself

Hidden in the shadows, he watched Granger and Potter secretly embrace.

Nothing had changed.

Once long ago, that would have been him: a skinny boy with black hair, his sweetheart with long hair – red not brown.

But that dream had been shattered the minute Potter had stepped onto the scene.

Now his son was finding romance at school.

He had no doubt they would marry and –perhaps this time around- live a long, fulfilling life together.

Severus wished that at least one of the two times he had fallen in love, a Potter hadn't been there to steal his happiness.
