It was definitely one of the dog days of summer. The Mystery Shack was almost empty; Soos was doing some errand, Wendy was off with her friends, and Mabel, his twin sister, was playing with Waddles, her pet pig, and Candy and Grenda, her best friends. Dipper was sitting, pretty much doing nothing.

"I know!" Dipper said suddenly. "I'll explore the part of the attic Mabel and I aren't staying in. It's cooler up there, too." Upon saying this, he headed upstairs. He went into the other part of the attic. There sure is a lot of dust and dirt up here. Dipper thought. There was a box labeled Chris. Funny, Stan doesn't know anyone named Chris. he thought. He opened the box. Inside were photo albums, scrapbooks, letters, and a bow tie. Dipper opened one of the letters and read to himself,

Dear Uncle Stan,

Sarah and I were blessed with a beautiful baby girl today. Her hair is the color of the sun at dawn, so we've named her Dawn. She, I believe, will be the first. I write to you so you can come to her christening. Please write back!

Your nephew,

Chris McClean.

"WHOA!" cried Dipper, falling backwards. "Chris McClean is Stan's nephew? I can't believe it." He read the letter over and over. He still couldn't believe it.

"Hello!" said Mabel. She scared Dipper into dropping the letter. She picked it up and read it. "Whoa! Chris McClean is Stan's nephew."

"Mabel, there's more in the box. Let's get reading!" Dipper explained.

"I'm out of here. Reading is no fun." Mabel said. She took all the photo albums, scrapbooks, and the bow tie. Dipper picked up one. He opened it up.

Dear Uncle Stan,

Sarah and I were doubly blessed today with two children: a boy and a girl. Our boy has a birthmark that looks like the big dipper. We named him Daniel, but will call him Dipper. Our girl is an unusually happy baby. Her name is Mabel. Sarah has contracted a fatal illness: malaria. I will have to send all of our children to other homes. Keep in touch.

Your nephew, Chris McClean.

"I'm Chris McClean's son!" Dipper said hoarsely.

` One day in June, a girl came to the Mystery Shack. It was Dawn. The Three siblings were finally reunited. They knew they could all remind their dad that they were his kids.
