Author Note: So I wrote this several years ago. We were reading And Then There Were None in my English class and my teacher made us rewrite the poem in the book. This is the version I came up with. It's not my best work since I feel my writing has matured since then but I felt an odd compulsion to just post it for the heck of it. So yeah. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Ten Little Monkeys

Ten little monkeys drinking bottles of wine;

One got drunk and then there were nine.

Nine little monkeys stop to eat dates;

One choked on a core and then there were eight.

Eight little monkeys performing in Devon;

One ran away and then there were seven.

Seven little monkeys throwing six-inch bricks;

One hit one's head and then there were six.

Six little monkeys about to take a dive;

One drowned in the water and then there were five.

Five little monkeys loose in a store;

One got food poisoning and then there were four.

Four little monkeys climbing up a tree;

One jumped out and then there were three.

Three little monkeys caged in a zoo;

One died of depression and then there were two.

Two little monkeys out in the sun;

One got dehydrated and then there was one.

One little monkey found himself a gun;

He shot his head and then there were none.
