Shuger Swirl's eyes fluttered open as a ray of sun beamed through her red drapery. She slumped out of her bed a trotted over to the window wachted the Canterlot ponies race around buying store goods. She then closed her curtains and walked over to the mirror, she looked at her reflection and saw her messy mane. She used her magic to brush her mane before going down stairs. Shuger Swirl sat at the dinnging room table in front of her parents. Her father Thunderhoof started the conversation " Shuger Swirl sweetie, your mother and I have," " got you into magic lessons with Zecorra in the Everfree forest," her mother Millieflower finshed. " Wow, thank you mom and dad when doI start?" Shuger Swirl asked. " Well," Millieflower replied, " You will take a train to Ponyvill where you will spend a night with your aunt Butterlily, then you will eat breakfast with her before you go to Zecorra's home, deep in the Everfree forest." " Now eat your oats, then you can take 25 bits for market." Thunderhoof said. Shuger Swirl quickly ate her oats before taking a small pouch to market. After she was out of her home she catered to the market, looking at all the stands she trotted over to a book stand and asked the bright red mare running it for books on the Everfree forest. The mare grunted before dropping a old brown leather book in front of Shuger Swirl. " 10 bits," the mare grumbled. Shuger Swirl placed the bit down, then smiled and said "have a nice day!" Puting the book in her saddle bag, she bought cherries and some apple cider before trotting home. The next morning Shuger Swirl woke up early, knowing that aunt Butterlily liked it when she was early. She packed her saddle bag putting the book she bought the day before, a faimly photo and a letter Swirl walked down the stairs a waited for her parents at the table. They soon came down surprised to see her waiting. " How long where you waiting?" Millieflower asked. "About 30 minutes," Shuger Swirl replied. A bowl of oats was placed in front of her, " eat," Thunderhoof said. " Shuger Swirl Zecorra will keep you as long as she thinks it will take you to learn her magic." Millieflower said. " Ok," Shuger Swirl replied. " Now lets go to the train station, we dont want you to miss your train," Thunderhoof said.
