Disclaimer: I own bleach, it's right next to the laundry soap... I do NOT own Tite Kubo's Bleach. (Stupid pun, I know, disclaimers are just boring otherwise)

Okay, this is just a small drabble that's been bouncing around my head for days. Because I love Ishihime, and poor tortured Ishida...

Hope you like it!

Glasses

He is the only one amongst his friends who wears glasses, but he's not sure he's the one that needs them the most.

Ishida Uryuu believes himself to be a rather intelligent individual. Why be modest about it? He knows he's pretty smart. He's also pretty observant. But sometimes he wishes he weren't. There are things he wishes he couldn't see, or at least, he wishes they were easier to ignore. Like the way she smiles at him, the way she talks to him. How she tries to be noticed, when it's impossible not to notice her. He wishes he were blind to the way her eyes widen just a little when he walks into the room, how those beautiful eyes of her, bright enough to light the entire room, light up only for him. Oh, how marvellous it would be not to feel that sharp pain in his chest everyday, the pain that appears when all the gestures, all the attentions he wants, he needs, are bestowed upon another!

He's not, by nature, an envious person. He has certainly never envied Kurosaki anything before. This, however, might be the exception. Kurosaki seems blind to her, immune, and at least this is a talent Ishida wishes he could possess for himself. How that man manages to ignore what everyone around him see so clearly is beyond him. Ishida has long suspected that his friend/rival's heart lies elsewhere, that it's been given to another girl even if its original owner is, for now, ignorant of the fact. Yet, even if he were free to return the feelings of one Inoue Orihime, Ishida believes he wouldn't. He doesn't comprehend it, he can't understand it, but he knows that much. Kurosaki Ichigo is blind to her, as blind as Ishida is to a page that has been placed a bit too far from his nose.

Maybe he's the only one who wears glasses amongst his friends, but he's sure Kurosaki needs them the most. He must need them, because, how could he otherwise ignore the wonderful woman that waits for him, in love, right in front of his eyes?
