Banter
"Sherlock, did you get the milk?"
"Was I supposed to?"
"It's your turn to buy it!"
"Yes, but when have I ever played by the rules?"
"Oh for the love of—it's only buying milk! Surely going down to Tesco and grabbing a jug of milk isn't too hard for a consulting detective?"
"Sarcasm doesn't befit you, John. Just so you know, I was busy with my experiment."
"What did Molly give you now?"
"Oh, nothing. I caught the specimen myself."
"You caught the specimen?"
"No need to repeat what I said, John. Are you hard of hearing?"
"No! I was just making sure. What do you mean by that? What did you catch, anyway?"
"Ah, you haven't seen it yet. It's in the bathtub. There, consider yourself warned."
"Bloody hell, Sherlock, did you catch a piranha again? I still haven't forgiven you for the very much non-psychosomatic limp I was sporting for the week after the fiasco, and the embarrassment."
"I don't think my brother had forgotten that incident either."
"I hate you."
"I know."
"There must be something really wrong with me for putting up with you. I'm making a cup of tea, do you want one?"
"No, thank you. However, if you're in the mood for doing others a favour, would you mind giving my platypus a bath?"
