The letter is addressed to both of them. Syed recognises Amira's handwriting as Linda passes it to him; he quickly thanks her, barrelling upstairs to open it with Christian.
It's a drawing.
Scribbled by over-enthusiastic hands, but still instantly recognisable – two tall men - the slightly taller with a scribble of yellow on his head, the other a vast scrawl of black - and a tiny figure with massive smile standing in between them.
And words – although it's clear the tiny fingers were helped – in bold felt tip, as if engraving each letter onto the page.
