Sometimes
Sometimes, all Christian has to do is cup Syed's face in his hands; stroking thumbs along his lips, fingertips brushing the hairs that tickle the top of his ears; and it's like everything else disappears - nothing left but Christian, and Christian, and Christian, and in that moment that's all he needs.
Sometimes, all Syed has to do is take Christian's face in his fingers; feather-light touch on his cheeks, wrapping around him like a cloak; and the world shrinks down, folding into nothing but Syed, and Syed, and Syed, and there's nothing more in the world that he wants.
