Why am I writing another Hermione fic? Didn't The Big One get enough attention?

Summary: "If a Muggle looks at it, all they see is a moldering old ruin with a sign over the entrance saying 'Danger, Do Not Enter, Unsafe'…" (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, page 166, U.S. version) What if a young Hermione saw Hogwarts without realizing it?

Don't own HP. Happy Birthday, Harry and J.K. Rowling...

"Mommy! Look!"

Inside the descending airplane, Eleanor Granger looked over her six year-old daughter's bushy-brown curls. "I don't see anything, Hermione, dear."

"It's right there! Do you see it? Huh? Huh?"

Julian Granger, Hermione's father, pushed his own mouse-brown bangs away from his eyes. "I don't see anything either, Eleanor. ...Hermione, are you sure there is something there...?"

"I'm positive!"

Hermione could see a castle, very tall with many impressive pillars, from a bird's eye view, and several other things—a large field of grass surrounding it, very weird shapes that looked like stands that she couldn't identify, a forest close by, a large, deep-looking lake... all very beautiful.

Her father pressed his nose against the window, stupidly. "I still don't see anything."

The little girl giggled. "It's a castle, obviously there and REALLY big! And, Daddy, you look funny with your nose pressed against the glass like that..."

Eleanor chuckled at her daughter's frankness.

"I'm afraid, dear, that there's nothing out there—or were you only kidding?"

Hermione blushed. Couldn't they see the castle—or were they playing with her?

"No," she said softly. "I don't kid."

She continued to stare at the castle as the plane touched down nearby—and her sharp brown eyes caught a small sign that she was sure didn't belong with the grand image she'd seen, which was now wavering—or were her eyes playing tricks on her?

Danger, Do Not Enter, Unsafe.

Done. Hope you enjoyed!
