(Author's Note:  A two-year break, and this is what I come back with...oy.  At any rate, the characters aren't mine, and the song being picked on (My Oh My) is by Slade.  Good tune, BTW.  I hope they can forgive me for what I did to it.)

My Oh My

"Thank you for coming out for the 5th Annual Garden Festival!!"  Selphie smiles at the applause as she makes her entrance.  "We have a very special musical performance, and we hope you enjoy it."

The perky SeeD placed the mic back in the stand, as the curtains open on the Quad stage, to reveal Quistis at the piano, playing a pretty melody, a slight smile on her face.  Raijin is seen on a drum kit in the background, twirling his sticks, waiting for his cue to come in.  Fujin holds a guitar, in front of a huge stack of amps, also waiting. Seifer holds a bass guitar, looking like he'd rather be anywhere else than on stage.

Squall sings, as Raijin keeps time on the hi-hat:

I believe in Garden, My oh my

I believe in Garden, My oh my

Don't a Garden have a SeeD?

We can do your dirty deed

I believe in Garden, My oh my

The spotlight closes on Squall, and opens again on Zell, also holding a guitar, at a different mic. Raijin adds a kick drum.

We all need another hot dog, My oh my

Can I have another hot dog, My oh my?

One with mustard, one without

If I can't, I'll sulk and pout

I just need another hot dog, My oh my

Irvine steps up to the mic, as Raijin adds the snare drum to the sound of Quistis' piano:

We all need a lot of lovin', My oh my

Yeah, a whole lot of lovin', My oh my

If your boyfriend just left you

I'm in dorm room 32

I'll give you some lovin', My oh my

Quistis changes to the synthesizer as the rest of the band comes in.  As Selphie shrieks in anger across the stage at Irvine, the sound is covered by the sound of Fujin's guitar solo.    The couple is obviously arguing, but the guitars drown them out.  As the solo ends, Squall, Seifer, Zell, Irvine, and Selphie come back to the mics, Selphie glaring daggers at Irvine.

So let's all swing together, My oh my

We can all swing together, My oh my

You've got troubles of your own,

No need to face them alone

We can all swing together, My oh my

As Seifer turns from looking at Raijin, annoyed at having to play bass behind Chicken-wuss of all people, he looks out into the crowd, as it seems to be lit up from dozens of contraband lighters, glow-sticks, and one or two Fire spells.  He smiles as they begin the last verse, thinking of how full the Detention Room will be.

So let's all pull together, my oh my

Yeah, let's all pull together, my oh my

We can clear the Training Center

If we all go in and try

So let's all pull together, my oh my

Yeah let's all pull together...

The band fades out and the lights go down.  The crowd begins to clap, and as Raijin does a drum fill, leading into Zell's guitar solo, the crowd cheers the blistering lead. As Zell smiles at the response, he jumps and falls off his riser.  Seifer almost doubles over his bass laughing, but never misses a beat.  And as Quistis holds the last synth note, a gloved fist pops up from behind the riser, giving a 1-finger salute to the DC bassman.

Headmaster Cid simply laughs at the antics of "those crazy kids."
