"I only ask what help you can give me, Karl," she said quietly. "Even if it is but a few marks. The Gestapo suspects me, but do not know for sure. I have a little time yet."
"Greta, what have you done?" Karl groaned in despair, his cold hands clasping hers desperately.
His little sister lifted his hands to her lips and kissed them. "Only what should have been done, Karl. There is no turning back now." She smiled, but her lips trembled.
Karl had always done his best to protect her. But how could he possibly save her now?
