This is one of those things where the idea comes barging into my head and I can't sleep until it's written.

Just a small little one shot about what I wished could have been in the episode.

In Your Arms

Summary: There must have been a short moment when Felicity was awake while being carried by Oliver. Spoilers for 2x22.

They had only been walking a few minutes when Felicity began to stir in Oliver's arms.

"Felicity?" Oliver asked, tightening his grip so as not to drop her. Felicity released a moan but didn't open her eyes.

"You alright Oliver?" Digg asked, slowing down his pace to check on Felicity. Oliver grunted in response.

"We need to find that cure," Oliver said, stumbling slightly when Felicity suddenly turned her head into his neck.

"It's only about three miles from here," Digg said, pointing in the direction they needed to go. Oliver nodded and the two carried on in silence. Digg quickened his pace to walk in front of Oliver, his duty as a bodyguard never wavering.

As they walked, Oliver's eyes routinely glanced down at Felicity, to make sure that she was still there. Of all the ways she could have gotten hurt, a car accident had never entered his mind and yet he felt the same fear right now as he had when The Count had taken Felicity hostage.

"Oliver?" Felicity's quiet voice brought him out of his thoughts. He quickly looked down at her and couldn't stop the small smile that spread across his face.

"You're awake," he said and Felicity could hear the relieved tone in his voice.

"My head hurts," Felicity said, once again bringing her head down into the crook of Oliver's neck.

"It's gonna hurt for a while," Oliver said, nodding as Digg turned back to look at him. He knew his relief mirrored Digg's. Up ahead loomed the road they needed to be on and Oliver shifted his hands slightly to a more comfortable position. Unfortunately for him, Felicity noticed.

"Are you hurt?" she asked, and Oliver knew that since she was making no move yet to get down, her injuries must have been worse than they looked.

"It's nothing," Oliver replied softly. Felicity raised her head and levelled him with a glare.

"It's not nothing Oliver. We were all in that van when it rolled."

"And you were the only one who ended up unconscious," Oliver retaliated, letting Felicity know that any arguments she could come up with would be invalid.

"I'm guessing this wouldn't be one of those 'I'm sorry' moments?" Felicity asked.

"Hey," Oliver said, looking down at her. "This wasn't your fault. It was an unfortunate accident." Felicity nodded her consent, bringing one of her arms up to loop around his neck.

For a brief moment, both Oliver and Felicity couldn't help but think about how right this felt, despite what was happening around them. For a brief moment, they were simply Oliver and Felicity.

"I can get down if you want," Felicity said, cutting through the silence.

"Are you sure?" Oliver questioned warily, not trusting her to stand on her own at the moment. Felicity nodded.

"We don't have time for this. Just let me down slowly and we can go from there," Felicity instructed. Oliver sighed before relenting and gently lowering her feet to the ground. Her arm stayed looped around his neck while his didn't leave her waist.

"You okay?" Oliver asked, steadying her as she swayed on her feet.

"Yeah, I'm good. Just a bit of a headache," Felicity answered with a smile. "Thank you."

"Always," Oliver whispered. Felicity closed her eyes and leaned into him for a second before straightening up and tapping his hand.

"I...can walk now."

Like I said, it's just a short little thing that I had to get out of my system before I went to sleep.
