"Die one thousand deaths!"
The small dog went flying. What a farce! Something about being on her way to the 'Smash Brothers', whatever that meant.
"Hmph!" The man grumbled. His skin was sallow, not black but certainly not white. His eyes were entirely red, though they didn't glow. They matched his hair, which was tied in a very short ponytail on top of his head. He wore sandals and a black gi which was torn at the sleeves and ankles, with a tear down the front of his torso as well. On the back, a red kanji symbol, which had at this point become synonymous with him.
Akuma was looking for Ryu, not bipedal dogs who cheerfully approached him looking for fights. Surely even they must have understood that you can't expect to be so carefree heading into a fight and get away with it. No matter, as he had sorted it all out. The dog learned quickly that she had no chance of defeating him.
It made Akuma think though. What other kinds of oddities lived here? He continued to walk in his current direction, unsure of where exactly he was going, but knowing that it didn't matter at this stage. Maybe he wouldn't find Ryu at all, but instead he would find a challenge. If that happened, Akuma would be satisfied.
Wait a second. What was that glowing thing showing up in the distance?
The complex was a large building, to say the least. It was built into a mountain, though visibility hadn't been the main factor, or even a factor at all in the design. It wasn't like it mattered though, being part of a mountain range and having a large forest at the foot of the mountain. Inside, there was a meeting room in the centre of this complex, a round table for an assembly of the greatest minds and talents that the world had to offer. One by one, they all took their places at the table.
Dr. Coyle, the Rad Scientist, with her green, seaweed-like hair.
Sunstar, the Ancient Robot, with the build of three different robots melted together as one.
Darkrai, the Pitch Black Pokémon, floating above his chair while cackling sinisterly.
Eggman Nega, the spectacular scientist from another dimension. His grey moustache looked incredible as always, and also somewhay like he was blowing smoke out of his nose. Next to him was Chaos. What was Chaos? Soon you will see...
Ghetsis, the Master of Kyurem, the ice dragon. Kyurem stood behind him, being twice as tall as the man himself.
M. Bison, the Head of Shadaloo, master of Psycho arts. He was mad enough to weaponize his soul to give him a better chance at victory, even if it cost him his sanity.
Shao Kahn, the Conqueror of Realms, who's bloodthirsty conquests across worlds had earned him infamy everywhere.
Fawful, the Mechanical Genius, responsible for once taking over the entire Mushroom Kingdom.
Andross, the Galactic Conqueror, enemy of Starfox.
Medusa, the Ruler of the Underworld, rival to Palutena. Despite what legends said, looking at Medusa alone wouldn't turn you into stone. Granted, she was still pretty horrific to look at, with all those snakes instead of hair.
Giygas, the Alien of Darkness, so shrouded in mystery that no one even knew what he really looked like...or if he looked like anything at all.
Finally, White Heart, the Goddess of Lowee.
The 12 members of the White Star Alliance. Some members were amazed that they were able to get things together so quickly, while others had no comment.
White Heart being the leader was somewhat comical, especially to some of the other villains. She was quite short for a start, shorter than most of the villains standing at a mere 146cm tall, and she hadn't developed physically in one key area that haunted her forever. No one dared taunt her about her flat chest though, not because they cared about her feelings, but moreso because they didn't feel like spending a year in intensive care. Aside from that, she wore a white leotard, thigh high socks and boots, both white, as well as white gauntlets/gloves on her arms. Her hair, ironically, wasn't white. It was more chrome coloured, short at the back with long bangs at either side of her head.
As for her personality, she was usually well spoken, except when she got angry, and boy did she have a temper. When she got angry, she would swear like a sailor and often go as far as assaulting the person who wronged her, regardless of who they were. As one of the villains said, "her appearance wasn't the only childish thing about her." He cited her "frequent tantrums" as a back up for this claim. Not to her face though. She didn't hide a lot, which made it easy to understand so much of her personality in such a short space of time.
"Who will begin?" Ghetsis asked. The leader of Team Plasma, Ghetsis looked like a cult leader, long blond hair and a half dark grey, half black robe. The collar of the coat The ice had yet to be broken, despite the fact that they had been working together for some time now. Yes, it had mostly been separate work to ensure the plans would work when they all came together, but still. Even the people who worked together seemed a little awkward just sitting there like they were mute.
"I will." Sunstar announced. Sunstar, like many robots from his world, had large feet, an arm cannon on one of his arms that could change between an arm and a cannon, and a helmet that looked like something a pharaoh might have worn. This helmet was a solid blue colour though, like most of his armour. Despite being a robot, whoever created him gave him a human face. Pale skin and brown eyes, but other than that there were no notable features on his face. The only other feature he seemed to have was suns that were on his knees, elbows, and one on his forehead. Despite his fearsome appearance, he wasn't very tall either. Taller than Blanc by a few inches, but still not much over five feet. He was more bulky though, owing to his design.
"I would like to start this off by saying that I am glad for this alliance. I look forward to working with all of you." He sat back down.
"I would like to second this..." The next one to stand up was Darkrai. Of all the villains, he was by far the most unsettling. Darkrai may have only been average height, but the fact that he hovered at least two feet off the ground at all times made him far more menacing. He was almost entirely black as soot, save for the top of his head which was white, almost like smoke rising from his head. He had one blue eye which managed to be his most notable feature, as his other eye was covered by the 'smoke' which covered the top of his head. There was no doubt he was a creepy son of a bitch, and he knew it. He wasn't known as the Pitch-Black Pokémon for his colour.
"I am humbled that you have chosen me to fight alongside you..." He continued. "You won't regret it..." M. Bison stood up next. "Though our alliance is temporary, I will offer my full support." Of all the people present at the table, Bison was only second to one in terms of physical intimidation. He stood at over two-hundred and fifty pounds, and just under six feet tall. He was mixed race, half Irish and half Thai. His Thai genes were dominant, giving him his darker complexion and eyes, which were completely milky white.
No one was really sure what to make of Bison. He dressed like a stereotypical dictator, with no exceptions. He always wore his red uniform, complete with a hat and cape. To be fair, he took off the cape when he was about to fight someone, but that was the only exception. "I for one, hope you all understand how important co-operation is. Without it, we have little chance. This is why I hope you will understand my decision to take the stance of 'work with us or die'."
"Like we would have to worry about that." Medusa scoffed. "We should be worried about you doing the same!" Bison chuckled. "Is that so? I don't recall having any such plans." He responded. "The same I cannot say for you."
"I will be the one to enforce that rule!" Shao Kahn announced. "There is no one more trustworthy than myself for such a task!" Medusa rolled her eyes. "Sure." Kahn didn't take lightly to being made fun of. "You have the gall to mock me?!" He demanded. "I have more than that!" She fired back.
White Heart slammed her hammer down on the table. "Are you bastards gonna sit around and bitch all day or do you want revenge?!" That silenced everyone. "That asswipe Galeem got further than this!"
The mention of his name was nothing knew. They all knew how Galeem tried and failed to bring the Smash Bros. under his control. He had some very good ideas, but ultimately, his one mistake proved to be his downfall: Letting Kirby escape. The pink ball of cuteness was extremely powerful, something his appearance didn't let on at all. Maybe Galeem overlooked that, or maybe he did try and just couldn't quite catch Kirby. Either way, Blanc made an example of Galeem's failures, warning the rest of the White Star Alliance.
However, all of them knew that there was a level of success Galeem had achieved which was not to be ignored. Only one smasher was the difference between failure and victory in his case.
"I will get to work." Ghetsis said, getting up from his seat and moving towards the nearest exit. "Likewise." Bison got up and headed for his office. One by one, the villains began to disperse, putting each individual step of their grand plan into place.
"What is this?" Akuma asked himself. He was staring at a small gear, a light blue shade. It was surrounded by a hologramatic green design, which must have been something to protect the gear or make people realize how important the gear was, never meant to be taken for personal and selfish use. It had worked thus far though, however weird it was.
Or maybe it was the fact that this item was in such a secluded location that no one in the right mind would ever think of looking here in a million years. Either way, Akuma wasn't taking it. He felt like something bad would happen if he did, and he didn't really understand what the gear was supposed to do.
With nothing left to do, he headed for a way out. Despite not taking the gear though, his interests were piqued. He would most certainly remember every step he took to get into the place where the gear was.
Another meeting, though this time the circumstances and people in involved were much more different. Smash Guild wasn't so much a place to live as it was just a place to receive briefings about the latest things going on in the world of Nintendo.
The table was mostly empty, save for 14 seats. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Link, Zelda, Lucario, Ness, Kirby, Meta Knight, R.O.B., Mr. Game and Watch, Cloud Strife, Megaman and Sonic the Hedgehog were the only ones there, with all the rest clearly having something better to do. They chose a bad time to have something better to do though, as clearly there was something up. There had to be, if Master Hand was serious about this meeting.
"I'd just like to begin by welcoming Cloud to our team." Master Hand began. Everyone knew who he was by now. An impressive resumé indeed. Still, it was kind of funny that he had his origins in a game that jumped ship from Nintendo.
Despite Cloud being there two days though, no one knew much about his personality. He liked to keep to himself, and none of the smashers were too eager to try and break him out of his comfort zone. "We're still waiting on the other two from what I hear. They shouldn't be long."
"Two more?" Sonic asked. "Sweet. Who are they?" Master Hand was already wary as far as telling Sonic that was concerned. There was no way he would take it well if he knew. "Well...I'd like the newcomers to introduce themselves. Besides, you already know one of them, Sonic." That really piqued the blue blur's interests. "Is that so? Now I really wanna know!" Master Hand ignored him.
"Now. Obviously I have called you all here for a reason. I must tell you, it is not good news." He began. "Is it Galeem again?" Zelda questioned. "No." Master Hand replied. "Galeem is gone for good. But unfortunately, I have no idea what is going on myself. Natural disasters are occuring everywhere. Some places are recording well below freezing temperatures for a few seconds before things return to normal and no one knows why."
"Do we even know of anyone who could do any of that?" Megaman spoke up. "It seems like a lot for one person to be doing single-handedly."
"Right now, we have no idea as to what is causing all this trouble." Master Hand admitted. "Figuring that out is clearly going to be a priority."
Then he moved on. "Right. While I naturally want to know the identity of those responsible, it is not my main priority. Right now, there's only one thing we can do."
"We'll probably need more help." Ness suggested. "Exactly." Master Hand confirmed. "Anyone who is willing to join at this point is good enough for me. I would say we need at very least 50 members in total to have a chance."
Cloud was deep in thought. So he was going off on another adventure? Just like the last one he went on with the All-Stars. Cloud couldn't help but notice the similarities between the two, though it wasn't a bad thing. He got some enjoyment out of his last outing, so it wasn't too farfetched to hope this one would be good too.
"Say no more!" Sonic took off immediately before Master Hand could say anything else. "Well...I suppose I didn't really have much else to say. You know what to do." With that, the rest of the Smash Bros went off, looking for any and all help they could find.
As soon as they left, Master Hand heard doors behind him burst open. "HeY!" It was his brother, of course. He should have guessed. "SoRrY i'M lAtE!" Crazy Hand apologized. "NoW lEtS gEt DoWn tO bUsInEsS."
He sighed. Even in times like this, some things never changed.
Author's Note
I won't lie, it's good to be back. I have since picked up a switch with SSB Ultimate, and I'm really enjoying it. Have all characters unlocked too, which may help with this.
I made Sunstar taller than he actually is because I wanted him to be sligtly more intimidating than a happy meal toy, and, as you can see, I made almost everyone taller than Blanc just cause I could. Granted, most were already that tall.
Yes, that was Isabelle who got beaten up. Yes, I do have something of a vendetta against her. No, you can't ask why.
So now it's back to work for me, and I'm looking forward to hearing all your thoughts.
