The fourth bullet
The fourth bullet. The last bullet.
With the gun barrel against Akise's chest. Fingers pressing the trigger, trembling. An smirk in the other's face. Hands sweating, clinging the gun desperately.
An that smile. His smile. Yukiteru swallowed saliva. Pursed the lips.
And tried to fired.
Wanted to fire.
For him, for Yuno.
For the fight to become god.
Because he was going to be god—Did he want to?—.
They were not going to interpose in his way. Anybody. Not even Akise.
Akise.
Through the gun he could feel his unstoppables, impossibles, wilds beatings. He was going to shot. To press the trigger. And he would get rid of him, he would be free! It would be just him and Yuno, for ever. Yeah. That was the "for ever", the future he wanted. The infinite, his only infinite. Not this. Not him.
Not Akise.
But his fingers tumbled, his strength failed him, his determination fell on his knees, at his feet. He swallowed saliva again, and the fourth bullet never left the barrel. Yukiteru never shot to his chest. Never stopped his heart. The trigger that was too far, too hard, too slippery. The problem was the trigger, that which he had already pressed three times against three friends. Those three bullets in three chests.
But the fourth... the fourth bullet had jammed. Not in the gun, but in his fingers. It had chocked. He couldn't. It was not gun's, trigger's or bullet's problem. It was him, collapsed, with the determination of becoming god hesitating because of him.
It was his smile. It was all that he wanted. It was his only infinite, his only "for ever".
It was Akise.
"You've run out of bullets..."
Yukiteru relaxed the trigger.
When Akise's hands grabbed his shoulders and a kiss stole breath from him this bullet never shot nailed into Yukiteru's chest, drilled his heart. The one who beat unstoppable, impossible and wild. Just like Akise's. At the same time at Akise's.
He didn't hear Yuno came, he didn't see her appearing among the ruins. And he had no time to close his eyes. Akise's lips were disappeared. He felt his shoulders naked without his hands on them. One minute later, Akise was disappeared. Yukiteru wanted to feel him against him one last time, but a body without lips can't be kissed.
His sweaty skin were stuck to Yuno's. Yuno against him. He against Yuno. An infinite fight between naked bodies. Two hearts beating accelerated. Ecstasy, moans, screams. Scratches, infinite hugs. The name of a man stuck in his throat. An unpronounceable name.
He closed his eyes trying not to breath, just taking one breath when he felt that his cheeks began to swelling. And he still remember the beats against the barrel, the lips against his, the palms of his hands, the pale skin, the eyes painted in oxide, the neck torn, separating the head from the body, his extended arm, the mobile phone. The diary. Akise had advanced to him.
In the gun still was the last bullet. He looked at Yuno. She was asleep, coiled at his side. Her checks were brilliant and she had a smile between the lips. A smile, not his smile.
He stocked the barrel leaving the belief of the infinite. He heard how Yuno breathed quiet, unprotected.
He took the gun and pointed. But this last bullet was never shot. He couldn't shoot it against her.
Yukiteru thought that maybe it was truly nailed inside him.
Something was wrong.
In the charger there was still the fourth bullet.
