Time changes people. Or so they say. But the numerous amounts of months Saruhiko had spent away from that old apartment building made him ache. Misaki was sitting in the middle of his bed, legs pulled to his chest and head buried.

Still claiming the bottom bunk as his own, I see? He stood, unable to move an inch. Only listening to the sound of sobbing that hit him like a powerful punch.

Saruhiko could not take it, he was not strong enough to just stand there, idly watching the person he used to call best friend cry. The words escaped his lips before he even knew what happened.

"Misaki."

The red head lightly jumped, not looking up from his position as quickly as the other thought he would. But when Misaki did manage to pull his head up the image ruined Saruhiko.

Eyes red from endless crying, cheeks stained, his hair frazzled and unmanaged. But it was his answer back that shattered the dark haired man altogether. "Saru..hiko?"

Cottonmouth, disbelieving, Saruhiko continued to stare at the other.

"What are you doing here?" Misaki asked, his voice still trembling.

But he could not answer him, he could not find the words. Why was he here? What were his intentions?

The silence did not please the red head, and the usual anger he had for his old friend quickly resurfaced, this time laced with depression and hysteria.

"Why are you here? To laugh at me? To watch me go through all of this?" Misaki's voice escalated, spewing accusations and curses. "Is this another part of the Blues job? To watch the clans men fall apart? Going to laugh at me now that my family is gone?"

His throat tightened, allowing Misaki's words hit him and shake his mind of reason. But there was no malice thoughts for this youth in front of him, no matter the animosity wishing to be started.

"Fuck you, Saru! Fuck you all! You just want to laugh at me. At my pride! You don't understand!"

The last words to leave the red-head's mouth were the expect words needed to refocus the other. And in an instant did Saruhiko find his feet moving, stepping towards the bed the other was on. He could not think, but the next moments found themselves to be right.

Uncharacteristically, Saruhiko sat himself on the bed besides Misaki, not minding the anger still being directed at him and wrapped his arms around the other. He pushed so that the two laid on the mattress, gripping the other boy tightly.

"Misaki…I understand", Saruhiko spoke.

Clutching the taller man's shirt, he shouted, "No you don't! You don't get this feeling at all!"

"…I lost my family too. I lost it just like you did. Mikoto-san wasn't the only one to leave that day…Commander…"

Tears left Saruhiko's eyes slowly, his voice wavering but he tried his best to control it. Misaki looked up, shocked by the actions of the other and felt his own emotions come back to him.

- "I'm so sorry." He said, breaking down into tears again and hugged the other as tightly as he could.

Saruhiko shook his head, crying more loudly. "I'm sorry too."

The two men stayed on the bed, comforting one another that late until it was late at night, on that late December day.

I'm trying to get myself out of a horrible block...so this happened... Its a sort of alternative ending to the anime series where both Red and Blue die...I could explain how but we'll see.

And also, sorry if anyone seems a bit Out of Character, I'm trying my best to break that habit.

Reviews would be lovely! I would really love to get better at writing, please. Thank you! Goodnight! -Smileandsleep
