"So Artemis what do you think we'll be doing this summer" Butler asked his young master. He was standing outside the door to Artemis' room because there are rules about guards in bedrooms at the Fowl manor. Artemis was in the bathroom he had just finished washing and was coming into his bedroom. "Well quite actually Butler I've nothing to do, not even any contact with the people came up."

He said wearing a towel wrapped around his waist. He was seventeen now. His hair had grown but only to length that was suitable for a Fowl man. He had grown taller but his face still had the softness of his childhood although it was long. His body was slender and yet petite but in all he was still Artemis. "Hmm that's different usually you have something planned." The manservant said through the door. "You know Butler my mother and Juliet are out of the house, you don't have to follow that petty rule" There was a small thunder that Artemis could only describe as something close to laughter, shortly after that butler had came in he hadn't seen the inside of Artemis' room in quite a while but he could tell it changed.

In fact that was one of the things Butler loved. He'd never say anything about it but he knew almost everything about Artemis. Some things he had to know, others were just because. "You like it old friend? It's not the color I wanted but it isn't far from it." "Oh there's a chair to the window now too" Artemis described patting his hair dry with the towel. Butler finally stopped analyzing the room and turned his attention to Artemis. He couldn't believe what he saw more then that he couldn't believe what he thought. Was this beautifully sculptured being his best friend? Did he really just think Artemis was…Beautiful? "Art-mis? …" "Come now old friend seeing me this way- it doesn't bother you …does it?"

"Mmm, No not at all it's just well… nothing" Butler had no choice but to think over the whole ordeal in his head. He had just finished wondering if he thought Artemis was beautiful, his speech was slurred and finally did he stutter! He never stutters. Artemis had made his way to the end of his bed where Butler was sitting. "Life's been so different for us these pass years huh dear friend." Butler moved over a little to let Artemis by but turned his direction so he couldn't see him. "Well Artemis maybe this year will be different, besides they say it takes two to make something new." "New? Exactly what do you mean by that Domovoi?" Butler melted; he loved it whenever Artemis acknowledged him with his true name more to that he knew that Artemis knew what he was thinking about these pass awkward minutes

"Artemis I don't want to talk any…" "Domovoi pegalsto …" Artemis cooed while laying his hand on Butler's shoulder. "Tell me what you are thinking." Butler sighed "To tell you the truth I don't know what I'm thinking Artemis…I just…" Artemis pulled his friend's face so it met with his. "Domovoi I have to say this, I don't know what you're thinking but I myself am so sure it is on my mind too." The two looked into each others eyes. They knew exactly what each other had on there minds but had put no actual thought to going about it until… "Domovoi I think I …I might" "Artemis I know what you mean so don't say it just show it."

Artemis' cheeks turned red but his face gave no readable emotion for he didn't know how. Then something pushed in his chest and kept pushing it was his heart and it made him do something he had never before been able to show correctly and that was love. Artemis pulled Butler's face to his and their lips met with one another's. Butler pulled back a little but Artemis caught him. "Domo what will become of us?
