Marcus Fenix was an ordinary man who lived an ordinary life in an ordinary world. He had a unbreakable attachment to his father, Adam Fenix who worked as a scientist for the COG (Coalition of Ordered Governments). Marcus and his father lived happy lives, everyone did on the planet of Sera. Everyone knew each other, mostly everyone was nice to each other. But one day, that was about to end. One day that was all about to change. The nightmarish horde called the Locust emerged from under Sera's fine clean underground. People of all ages died that day, kids were seen getting beat to death with their own ripped off arms by the monsters. The COG and the outsiders called that day Emergence-Day (more commonly known as E-day). Throughout the war millions of both species died but carried on fighting, it just wouldn't stop. The screaming, the crying, the mourning. Marcus Fenix joined the COG even though his father forbid him to do so. One day the COG were ambushed by the Locust forces, Marcus disobeyed orders to try and save his father. Marcus was too late because when he reached his father a helicopter was shot down and crushed Adam. Marcus got sentenced to 40 years in Jacinto Maximum Security Prison. Marcus spent at least 4 years in there until the Locust had overrun the penitentiary. Marcus got saved from prison by his best friend and kind of brother, Dominic Santiago. They escaped the prison via helicopter. In there Marcus met two fellow soldiers. The leader of Delta Squad Minh Young Kim was a blad Asian man that seemed confident as a leader, and the rookie of the group Anthony Carmine who had his face hidden behind a COG soldier helmet. By order of colonel Hoffman, Delta Squad were to find a resonater that could end the war once and for all. They lost Kim and Anthony on their search for it. Anthony got his head popped by a sniper and Kim was slain by the Locust general RAAM. Marcus and Dom found two members of Alpha Squad. Augustus Cole (more commonly known as the Cole Train) was a retired American football player was one and the other was Damon Baird a cocky sarcastic mechanic and the smartest of the four. Throughout their journey they found the resonater and successfully deployed it in the birthplace of the Locust. They travelled a bit more until they were ambushed by the Locust, they survived the ambush and went to catch a train. Cole and Baird were too distracted to get their shit together and missed the train. Marcus and Dom fight their way through the Locust filled train until they got to the front. General RAAM was waiting for them and almost killed the two. It wasn't until Delta Squad's heli (along with Cole and Baird) had shown up that they had killed General RAAM. Marcus and Dom were saved by the helicopter as they watched the train fall from the broken bridge. Marcus was only seconds from his death, after that they activated the resonater and blew the Locust's home to smithereens. They thought it was over, they thought they won. But they didn't know that the Locust horde had evacuated minutes before the resonater went off.
It wasn't until the Locust ambushed the COG yet again that Marcus Fenix had realised. The nightmare wasn't over. Not yet.
Ta da, I decided to make a Gears of War one-shot instead of another chapter for F13. I'm sorry if you guys are disappointed it won't happen again.
I wanted to write something different so there you guys have it. Next I will be working on chap. 5 for F13 so stay tuned it might take a week or so (KILL ME IT'S SCHOOL). So I'll see you guys when I can.
