Someday, he would figure out just what made that girl so 'special'. He would understand why her unique scent of vanilla and sunshine drove him up the walls.
Someday he would understand why she caused his chest to tighten, making him paw at the place where his heart should have been, searching for a beat he knew wasn't there.
Someday he would run his fingers through her blood red hair just to see if it was really as soft as it looked. Maybe he would pin her to a wall with his body just to see how strong she was. Maybe she would fight back, maybe she wouldn't. He decided he didn't really care either way.
Someday he would understand why her name made his breath catch and the pit of his stomach tickle.
Someday…
Someday, she would figure out what made that man so 'special'. She would understand why his smell of old books and dust and darkness made her feel just a little bit calmer.
Someday she would understand why his one-eyed glances made her feel small and giddy. She would be able to face him with out a tingle running up her spine.
Someday she would brush that mass of silky, purple hair away from his face just to make sure that, yes, he really did have two eyes. Maybe her fingers would slip and glide over the rest of his lean face. Maybe she would ask him what made him so pale and thin.
Someday she would ask his name.
