Hey Everyone! I think it's pretty darn obvious I don't own One Piece, so yea. But I do own Calisto, Eve, Lillian, and Avalon. Anyhow, here's the most recent version of the story! I'll be sure to get the rest of the chapters up before the end of the month!

Water:

It was the day before her seventh birthday. Calisto was down by the river that ran through the little island in the South Blue. The little girl wiggled her arms back and forth and spun around a couple of times, the water following her movements. She was surrounded by a sphere of water, with what appeared to be eight small projections flowing from the edges of the sphere. "Look, Oni-san! I'm an octopus!" The little ginger puffed out her freckled cheeks and wiggled her arms around more, making the projections dance like tentacles.

"You're not taking this seriously, Calisto! You need to focus and learn how to defend yourself." Her brother sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, which was just as red as his little sisters, and adjusted his goggles on top of his head.

"Why do I need to worry about that? You've even said so yourself, that you and James will always be here to protect me in case any bad guys come." The little ginger girl puffed out her cheeks in annoyance at her older brother.

"Calisto, what if we're not here? What would you do then, huh?" A little blonde boy strolled up, carrying some bread and fish.

"Well... I dunno... I guess I'll think of something. Whatcha got, James?" Calisto perked up at the sight of what her brother's best friend was carrying.

"Lunch. But eat quickly, you need to keep practicing." He patted the little girl on top of her head, ruffling her hair.

"Where did you get all that, James?!" The older redhead whispered so his little sister wouldn't overhear.

"Where do you think!? The market." The blonde whispered back to his friend.

"Okay, fine, how did you get that?"

James' expression narrowed to a rather sarcastic look. "Do you really need to ask, Kid?"

"No. Forget it." Kid sighed, once again, running his fingers through his hair in frustration. "James, I sure hope no one saw you take this stuff."

"I don't think anyone did. I haven't been caught yet." James glanced over his shoulder to make sure nobody had followed him out to their small, abandoned cabin.

"Yea. Yet." Kid rolled his eyes. Just two years prior Kid and Calisto's parents were killed in a fire, everybody on the island had said it was an accident, but nobody would ever really say what had happened, and it had never been investigated. Deep down, he knew the fire was no accident, and James knew too. James was the same age as Kid, and was his best friend. Shortly after the fire, he had met Kid and thought he was acting rather strange, so he decided to follow him out to the edge of town, and to the old abandoned cabin by the river. There he saw Calisto playing in the water, and decided to try and help his new friend and his sister. Ever since then, James has been by their side.

A short distance downstream, a group of men were watching the trio through a small bush, "What do we have here?"

Later that night, the trio were sitting by a little fire James had made. The boys, fast asleep, were unaware that Calisto slipped away to go play in the river again. After some time, the men decided to make their move. Calisto was startled by the sound of heavy footsteps from behind her, quickly turning around to see them approach, she froze in fear. There were three tall men, two were tall and lean, the third was tall and rather fat. But all three of them were wearing the Marine's uniform. "Hey little girl," the fat one bend down on one knee, "you shouldn't be out here all by yourself."

"Yea," one of the lean ones chuckled, "we've had reports of some bad men in the area, and, well, it's just not safe out here. They could try and kidnap you."

"So why don't you just come with us, huh?" The fat one reached out to grab her arm.

"ONI-SAN!" She screamed as loud as she could.

"Shut her up! And grab her already dammit!" The third man yelled. As the first man grabbed her and put his hand over her mouth. She was scared, the way they looked at her, that money-hungry look in their eyes said it all, she was in danger. Kid and James were always trying to warn her something would happen, so they made her practice defending herself. But just like earlier that day, she never took it seriously. Thinking quickly, she bit down on his sausage fingers as hard as she could. The man yelped out in pain and in reflex, he let go, dropping her to the ground. The other two men tried to keep her from getting away, but from out of the darkness came James and her brother, leaping onto the backs of the other two men, biting and punching in a mad fury, desperately trying to help little Calisto.

"Cali, are you okay? Did they hurt you?" James ran up to her as Kid continued his assault. Before she could answer, a boot came up from behind James, kicking him straight in the face, sending him flying into the river.

"James!" She screamed.

"Calisto! Hide!" Kid yelled over his shoulder to her, but amidst all the chaos, the owner of the boot, an unnoticed fourth man, took her. And before either one of the boys could do anything about it, she was gone.

Earth:

It was a beautiful day on her little home island in the West Blue. With her eighth birthday quickly approaching, she was playing out in her mother's garden careful to not step on any of the plants. Avalon enjoyed being out in her mother's garden, it was soothing. The sun beat down on her tan skin, the breeze flowed through her long wavy brown hair, and the smell of different herbs and flowers filled the air. Avalon didn't want to be anywhere else in this moment.

The garden was not only the best place to relax, but it was also the best place to practice her Earth Abilities. She'd always had a special connection to the earth, she could feel the movement of the little animals, almost hear the plants breathing. She loved it, her favorite plant to practice with was the ivy. It was strong, flexible, easy to control, and there was plenty of it. Sometimes she would even make funny little animal shapes with it. She was currently lounging on the figure of a tortoise's shell that she had made earlier that day.

Her mother was a doctor of sorts; she used her plants as medicines to heal people, so there was certainly no shortage of plants to learn about and experiment with. Avalon knew that someday, she wanted to become just like her mother. Being a doctor and healer meant people would come and visit fairly often; most of the time it was the same people, with the same problems, but that didn't matter to her. As long as people needed help, she wanted to be there and help them. The most common visitors were the Marines from the nearby base. The new trainees were always getting themselves or each other hurt, usually by accident. On the rare occasion, when it was deliberate, her mother would usually hunt down the culprit and bash them upside the head with a wooden spoon, demanding to know if they liked being hit on purpose. It was a very effective technique, she was very well respected among the Marines and townspeople.

Avalon liked the Marines, they were always very kind to her; though they would have to be if they wanted her mother's help. She was interrupted from her train of thought by the sound of yelling from the living room. Quickly standing up on the tortoise shell, she could see a small group of three Marines talking with her mother. She didn't recognize these three, and she couldn't quite make out what was being said, but the look on her mother's face showed annoyance and contempt with the three men. Her one hand was resting on her hip, the other pointing to the men with the wooden spoon. "Yup, Mama isn't happy about something, and if Mama isn't happy, ain't nobody happy." She murmured to herself.

Wanting to get a better idea of what was going on, she headed toward the house and opened the back door. Before she could step inside, her mother called out to her, "Avalon dear, before you come in would you please go check on the honeysuckle serum?" She sounded very calm, but Avalon knew better. Her mother always told her that if anybody were to find out about her powers, people would come and take her away. For such a situation, her mother came up with a code word that meant "danger" and that word was "honeysuckle". She knew she had to get somewhere safe, and quick.

"Yes Mama." As quickly as she could Avalon darted for the safety of the garden. In the distance she could hear the faint screaming of her mother, cursing at these men in a foreign language. Avalon didn't know what the words meant, but she knew it wasn't nice. Her mother's shouting was interrupted by the sound of a man screaming in pain and the scent of burning flesh mixed with lavender incense. "Mama must have got one of them." She giggled to herself. A loud resounding pop made the little girl stop in her tracks.

"Get going you sorry oafs, the girl is getting away!" One of the men began shouting at the others. Avalon quickly dove into a cascading wall of ivy, shielding herself from the approaching men. She knew something was wrong though, she couldn't hear her mother anymore, even the sound of her heart beat was gone. The garden fell silent as a faint breeze picked up. Avalon could feel a whisper being carried in the breeze that resembled her mother. It felt sad, almost as if it were saying goodbye, she knew her mother was gone now, and wanted to cry but she knew that right now, she couldn't. Not with these men getting so close to her. She knew she had to be ready to fight, so she hid herself in the center of the vines and closed her eyes in concentration. Avalon could feel them getting closer, she could also feel that they had split up and the first man was just a couple of feet away. Taking a defensive stance, she began briskly moving her arms from side to side in a serpent like motion. The vines followed her every move, snaking out towards the man, twirling her wrist, the vines wrapped around his ankles, turning her whole body and extending her arm, she threw him a good distance away.

Turning her attention to the second man, who was over by the stone pathway that lead through the center of the garden, she clenched her hand into a fist and brought it up, sending one of the stones into the air behind him. Taking a deep breath, she unclenched her hand, dropping the rock over his head, effectively knocking him unconscious. Refocusing her attention to locate the third man, she found him by the desert plants. 'This should be entertaining...' she thought to herself. Planting both her feet into the soil, she placed her weight on her right foot and swung her left foot forward, dragging it into the ground on her left. This movement shifted the ground beneath him, dropping him flat onto his stomach.

In an attempt to appear intimidating, the man bit down on the little plant that was now in his face, and swallowed it. Turning to the little girl, expecting her to be afraid, instead she was laughing at him. What he didn't know was the plant he had just eaten was a Peyote Cactus, a very powerful hallucinogen and fatally poisonous if too much is eaten. Avalon found herself losing her composure in a fit of laughter as the man's expression went from angry, to confused, to panicked as he began tearing at his hair and clothing; screaming something about a goat-fish trying to steal his clover hat. "Wow, mom wasn't kidding when she said not to eat any of that."

In her fit of laughter, Avalon failed to notice the first man approach. Before she knew it, the world around her went black.

Air:

Growing up in the orphanage of a monastery, there usually wasn't much to do, Lily seemed to manage. Even though she was only eight years old, she enjoyed spending much of her time in the history section of the library. She practically lived there, and particularly liked to read about the legends of ancient warriors who could manipulate the four basic elements. Legend had it that during the Void Century, the new world power feared these warriors. First they had tried to convince them to join their new World Government, but when the Elements refused, they became hunted. Anyone who refused to join them were either imprisoned or executed. To further their point, they had all of their loved ones killed as well. Eventually, there was nothing left of these ancient warriors but the legends of their existence. Lily fell deep into thought, as her large silver eyes froze on the image of a young man in the book. He was lean and muscular, his head was shaven, and he wore only a dark pair of baggy pants with a sash around the waist. His bare feet hovered inches above the ground. He was an Air user, just like herself. She began twisting her long silver hair around her small fingers, imagining what it must have been like to not have to keep their powers a secret, able to openly use them and not be afraid of what may happen if anybody were to see.

A low murmur of voices broke her concentration. The head monks had gathered in the lower level of the library to discuss something that was obviously important. She understood something about there being a pirate ship docked at the southern harbor. Lily was curious, she had never actually met any pirates before, let alone seen any. She only knew what she had read. Pirates were supposed to be evil, conniving thieves who never bathed, but they were free, and they roamed the seas going wherever they wanted to go.

Lily didn't really consider herself to be the adventurous type, but she already explored every inch of this island, and she was intrigued by the idea of something new to learn. She really wanted to see this pirate ship for herself. Taking her favorite book with her, she dashed off to her room to grab her favorite shoulder bag and quietly slipped out the back windows. With her abilities, she was able to move quickly and arrived at the docks in a matter of minutes. Awestruck, she stared up at the giant galleon. The wood was worn down and splintered, the tattered and torn Jolly Roger waving to and fro in the breeze. After confirming there were no pirates in sight, she twisted her feet around and gracefully jumped up onto the helm. The deck was stained with blood and gun powder, some old and some fresh. It stunk of the strong iron liquid and something was rotting somewhere, she wasn't sure what though and quite frankly didn't care to find out.

Lily heard a strange noise coming from below deck and, completely overwhelmed with curiosity, decided to explore further into the ship. The deeper she wandered, the louder this strange noise got. It started to sound like moaning and soft sobbing, but she wasn't sure. As she continued to follow the sounds, her instincts began to tell her to turn back and something was wrong. Ignoring the feeling, she continued until she found the room the noises were coming from, it was a large storage room. Glancing around to make sure nobody was around to see her, she set her bag down and found a something to pick the lock with. As she opened the door, the sounds stopped.

"Hello?" She whispered, "Was somebody crying?"

"H-How did you get out?" A soft voice whispered back to her.

"Get out? Get out of what? Where are you?" Lily quietly closed the door behind her.

"Your chains. How did you get out of your chains?" Another voice asked.

"I wanna go home." Yet another voice spoke up. As Lily found a lantern and matches to light it with, her eyes went wide as she scanned the room. There were seven children, all chained and shackled to the walls. They all looked to be about her age.

"I know Cali. But you know they aren't going to let us do that." The owner of the second voice looked at the little girl called 'Cali'. Cali had shoulder length red hair and freckles on her cheeks and nose. Her blue eyes looked red and puffy from crying. Looking up at the second girl, she had long brown hair, with green eyes. Her skin was a light brown, and she was comforting the little red head.

"What's going on? Why are you all in chains?" Lily asked the brunette

"We've been kidnapped by slave traders. And unless you..." She was cut off by the sound of approaching footsteps. From outside the door, came the voice of a very gruff, very drunk, sounding woman.

"Why in the hell is door unlocked?" The lady slurred. "Ah, well. Guess better lock 'errrr upah." She could hear the sound of the lock clicking, and the footsteps faded away. Lily knew she couldn't escape, but she tried to open the door anyway. She heard a sigh behind her.

"It's no use." The brunette spoke up again. "I'm sorry, but it looks like you're going to be sold now too." Lily only stared at her in disbelief, tears began to well up in her eyes as reality began to sink in. "Hey, hey, don't cry. Come sit with us. What's your name?"

"Lillian. But I go by Lily for short." She choked back the tears.

"I'm Avalon. This is Calisto." Avalon motioned over to the little red head from before.

Fire:

Her mother never really cared much for her. Hell, she hated her! Nine years ago, her mother had been raped and the only reason she had been born was because her mother couldn't afford to abort, which only fueled her hatred for the child. It was obvious from the moment she was born and it certainly didn't help that the child looked just like her mother, either. Silky raven hair, and fair skin, according to the she-devil she called her mother, the little girl had her father's amber eyes. The child was never given an actual name, only referred to as twit, brat, snot, little shit, and the girl's personal favorite, "miniature waste of space and embarrassment to all human life." She once made the mistake of asking her mother why she kept calling herself all of those horrible names; it didn't go too well. She was beaten so badly she couldn't walk, sit, or see for almost a week, not to mention she wasn't allowed to eat anything for days. Of course, that didn't stop her from sneaking into the kitchen to steal some food anyway. Her mother was usually passed out drunk by midnight and wouldn't wake up until almost noon the next day.

Her mother really only seemed to care about two things and two things only; herself and her booze. Only recently was a third thing added to that very short list: a shield. It wasn't just any shield, it was a solid gold shield that was dripping in precious gems, baring the royal seal of the local resident family of World Nobles. Her mother had stolen it only a few weeks ago and was holding it for ransom. How she had managed that, she would never know. The family wanted it back and was willing to pay quite handsomely for it too. Hundreds of millions of belli, maybe even more. Not that the girl really cared, she knew there was no way a drunkard like her mother would ever be able to come up with a plan like that all on her own. There was just no way.

The girl hated her mother, and her mother hated her. She never would have imagined that the hatred could actually get worse, but four years ago, on her fifth birthday, she discovered something, she had the ability to control fire. So now was she not only an unwanted waste of space and air, she was also a freak of nature and didn't deserve to exist in this world. As she sat at the dinner table, listening to her mother eat like a pig, she just glared at the shield, knowing that if her mother were to catch her looking at the food, she'd get another beating. She glanced up at her mother, stuffing her face with an assortment of food, and washing it all down with bottle after bottle of sake. She, herself, had only gotten a few crumbs and some fermenting scraps of who knows what. Her stomach growled loudly. "Mom…" she began.

"I'VE TOLD YOU TO NEVER CALL ME THAT!"Her mother screeched, bits of chewed food falling out of her mouth as she spoke.

The girl sighed. "Fine… Ami… May I please have more, I'm still so hungry…"

"HOW DARE YOU ASK ME THAT YOU GREEDY LITTLE PIG! I GAVE YOU MORE THAN ENOUGH. GET OUT OF MY SIGHT! YOU DISGUST ME!"

The poor girl had enough of this woman. "I'M THE PIG? I HAVE HAD IT WITH YOU!" She began trembling with rage at the woman before her, "You horrible drunk! I am sick of the way you treat me! I cringe at the mere thought that I came from such a hideous banshee of a hag! And you know what?! UP YOURS, BITCH! And you can stuff it with this stupid shield too!" She balled up her fists and threw a scorching ball of flames at the shield. Her anger and frustration were so great, and the fire so hot, the shield melted, sending the now crispy gems to the floor. Without looking back, she stormed off to her "room", which was actually just a cellar with a cot.

Her mother jumped to her feet and ran over to the molten pile of gold and gem stones. "No, no, no, no, no! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" She shrieked. As her anger seethed, she began walking towards the girl's room, only stopping as an idea came to mind.

The girl waited, knowing her mother would not be far behind her. Quickly barricading her door, she waited for her mother to come, eventually falling asleep. When she awoke, her barricade was still as she had left it, looking around for any signs as to what time it was, she quietly moved everything away from the door. Before she could react, the door flew open, standing there were three men in suits, and behind them, was her mother. One of the men quickly pinched a nerve on the back of her neck, temporarily paralyzing her. The other two men swiftly picked her up by the arms and carried her outside. The first man approached her mother with a smile, she could tell he was whispering something to her, and she could see her mother give him a devious smirk in return and nod her head. He cleared his throat, "Ma'am, I can't thank you enough for your help in finding this petty thief. You can be assured she will pay for her crimes, and the Royal family is very grateful to you. There will be more rewards to come." He pulled out a leather pouch from the inside of his blazer, handing it to her mother.

"Well sir, I'm glad I could help them. I'm only sorry I didn't catch her before she destroyed their precious shield. I can only imagine what a loss they are experiencing. That child deserves whatever she has coming." Her mother glared over to her, "I can only hope the punishment suits the crime."

"Oh, I assure you, madam, it will. She will either be forced to work off her crimes as a servant to the family, or be executed. We'll see what happens."

That was the last time the girl ever saw her mother, and she was fine with that. Before she could hear the rest of their conversation, she was thrown into a carriage, to be taken to Mariejois, where her fate would be decided.
