Tommy, Katherine, Adam, Tanya, Rocky, Billy, and Jason all walked over to the counter, ordered, their drinks, and when they got them, walked over to a table.
"Rocky…why did you take on Mondo yourself?" Tanya wondered.
"I…got jealous," Rocky admitted with a sigh.
"Jealous?" the others asked.
"Yeah, I mean, everyone was fawning over Jason and I can understand why Billy and Tommy were especially excited to have back on the team, but when the rest of you acted the same way, it just seemed like-I don't know-I was being replaced," Rocky answered with a sheepish shrug.
"Replaced?" Jason asked. "Dude, come on! I mean, I chose you to take on the Red Ranger Powers. I knew you were the one."
"Yeah, I know it was stupid," Rocky admitted.
"You chose Rocky?" Tanya asked in confusion.
"I thought Zordon chose him," Katherine said.
"No. Jason chose Rocky," Tommy corrected.
"Yeah, he knew right away that he'd be the one. Even when we first met them," Billy recalled.
"Oh, yeah. That was weird," Adam said.
"It was?" Tanya and Katherine asked.
"Yeah, he looked right at me and said, 'It's you'!" Rocky answered. "Like we had met before," he continued.
"Well, in a way, we had," Jason said.
"Huh?" the others asked.
"A little before we met you here, I accidentally got transported to another reality," Jason explained. He briefly locked eyes with Tommy, and then averted his gaze. He couldn't forget all the damage Jaytron had done.
"What happened?" Katherine wondered.
"They were fighting a new power that had joined up with Zedd, and they lost their Red Ranger. We soon met you-well, their version of you, and you became the new Red Ranger," Jason replied.
"And when you saw him here-" Adam started.
"I knew he'd be the perfect choice," Jason finished. He flashed Rocky a smile and the boy beamed back. He had to admit, he felt better knowing that he had been chosen by his predecessor.
