There was a noise. His eyes flashed from side to side as he turned around trying to locate the source. He took a few steps in one direction, trying not to snap any twigs in the thick tangle of foliage, his heart pounding against his ribcage. He brushed some dark blond hair from his unshaven face.

A blur of colour contrasted against the green in the distance! He took off. Running through the jungle, he knew she was close. A warning sounded in the back of his mind but he ignored it. He stopped to listen, his senses heightened. He could hear her breathing now, she must be close.

"Damn it where is she!" he thought in silence as he tried to mask his own heavy breathing. Slowly he advanced; the light shining through the trees making patterns on his clothes, arms and handsome face. There! She dove out from behind a huge old tree and was off again but he had seen her this time. Making no attempt to hide his movements he launched from his feet full pelt, his body moving swiftly through the air. But she was fast and agile, slipping more easily between the trees, and soon she had escaped his sight.

"You can't run forever!" he called trying to find her figure amongst the lush greenery.

"Where is she…"

He crouched low in waiting.

"I have to find her…"

Her beautiful lightly tanned face framed with chocolate brown locks peered out to check if the coast was clear, her blue-green eyes widening.

"I have to tell her I…"

"GOT YA!" Sawyer exclaimed with mirth as her tackled her. They went rolling through the grass and bushes coming it an abrupt stop as they bumped into the foot of a tree.

"OW! OK! OK!" Kate half laughed "You caught me! Get off!" she pushed him off. He sat back grinning his signature, mischievous, grin.

"Now it's your turn, freckles"

She rolled her eyes smiling.

"Why do you even like this stupid game anyway?"

He got up and started to jog away but slowed looking over his head and shouting smirking as he did

"Cause, Sweetheart, I love the chase"
