Reminders.

Summary: The problem with forgetting is all the reminders you carry with you.
They tried to forget. They tried to walk away, without looking back. They tried and they failed..
So instead, they let it evolve it into something much deeper, something that could never be locked in the dark place, meant for the most destroying secrets.
It never had a chance to because, if even for the briefest moment they forgot, the cool metal hanging round their necks held the permanent reminder that brought them straight back to what they were running from.
The problem was no matter how much they tried to lie to themselves, they didn't want to forget. Ever.
