She found herself once again stood outside the brick building surrounded by overgrown plants of all sorts. If only she could get lost here, if it were a bit bigger, maybe even magical. Placing her hand on the door handle, she tilted her head back and looked at the grey sky.
It was silent, felt like a lifetime before one single word was spoken.
"Ef, what, what you doing here?" As if she didn't confuse him enough, why does she have to do this? One minute she's there, wanting him. The next she's off shagging whoever.
Freddie looked deep into her eyes. She gave nothing away, her head slightly to one side she stared right back at him. Something was different she was different. There was no smirk growing on her face.
Effy walked to the left and sat down on the battered sofa where she'd found herself sitting times before. It was only a grotty old shed, but to her it was perfect, she could just sit there and do nothing. Just sit.
Facing Effy, Freddie perched on the arm of the chair opposite her. "Effy…?" Confusion took over his voice; he needed answers.
For a split second there was a look on her face, which was telling him something, if only it was there a tiny bit longer he felt as if he'd get the whole story out of her.
"It's nice in here. I like it, very relaxed." He followed her gaze as she took in the whole room, her eyes rolling a little.
Then it was there. The smirk. Freddie knew there was no way Effy would ever give anything away, especially not now.
"Look, you'll have to go, I'm off out in a bit." Five minutes had past and Freddie headed to the door to show Effy out.
"Don't you want me Freddie?" She didn't move.
Of course he wanted her, she knew he wanted her but he was fed up with all the mind games. Freddie stood there leaning towards the door and she started to walk. She stood there facing him, he could feel her breath on his face, and it sent shivers down his spine.
Effy leant even closer and whispered something in his ear before letting her lips gently touch his skin. "Don't give in."
Walking back through the wild garden, Freddie stared as she took each step. Her messy brown hair swishing slowly in the breeze.
What did she mean?
