It was that time of the year. When the store windows are filled with snowflakes and everyone's singing christmas carols. So naturally the residents of Avengers Tower were in a festive mood.

Pepper had suggested one morning that they decorate the living floor of the tower, an idea that everyone but Tony agreed to. But, after a little convincing from his girlfriend, he consented.
Peggy put on a Christmas station, using a good old-fashioned radio, and she and Steve started arranging a pine garland on the overly large fireplace.
Clint and Natasha were busy stringing lights on the windowsills.
Pepper had made Tony get out the Christmas tree, and engaged him with the "chore" of wrapping it in lights, while doing much of it herself.
Bruce was getting out a few boxes of ornaments.
Thor and Jane were helping Bruce by taking the ornaments and hanging them on the ceiling.

The song Hey Santa by Wendy and Carnie Wilson had just come on, when a shot was heard. Then silence. Peggy was wide eyed in Steve's arms, Tony and Pepper were hiding behind the tree, and Bruce was cowering behind the kitchen counter with Thor and Jane. Only Clint had continued on as though nothing had happened. Natasha was calmly putting her gun back in its holster when everyone realized they were okay. But the radio had stopped, due to a bullet hole in its center. Peggy was the first to speak.

"What was that for?" She asked the Redhead.

"I HATE that song. It makes me want to puke." She answered, as she went back to helping Clint with the lights.

"Couldn't you have just gotten up and turned it down for a few minutes?" Asked a still-in-hiding Tony.

"Yes, but shooting it was quicker." She replied.

After the initial shock died down, and Peggy went to fetch another radio, everyone returned to their jobs, and within no time the main floor of the tower looked as though a professional decorating team had come in.

Later that night, Jane and Peggy made some hot chocolate, and as the mugs were passed around, it started snowing outside. At first, Thor was convinced that they were being invaded by Frost Giants, but Jane reassured him that snow was normal on earth. After everyone had drank their hot chocolate and eaten maybe one to many christmas cookies, they all headed to bed, and visions of...well, lots of different things danced in their heads.
