Sparks of Love

The way she stares at him takes his breath away, with her impeccable beauty that makes his breath hitch. Her beauty was just a bonus to her beautiful personality. There's no way to deny or stop him for falling for her. He was a man in love.

He even started humming to love songs that he didn't even like before.

He knew that she wanted to get out of this town, they both did but couldn't.

Both felt the sparks around them when they were together, the butterflies in their stomachs.

These sparks both knew was just going to be the start of a fire, a fire of both love and destruction.

Every time they kissed or simply touch it was a risk for Ethan. But it was worth it– Lena was worth it.

"Ethan?" She whispered as both lay on the green grass on Greenbrier, under a tree serving as their shade.

"Yeah?" He said as her head lay on his chest, his eyes close, and his senses enjoying the cool breeze.

His hand wrapped around her shoulder, his fingers lightly going up and down on her arm.

"I love you" She looked at him and it made his eyes bolt open and both sat up properly.

He could see the seriousness that was flashed on her eyes.

"I love you too" He said, his face nothing but serious.

"I'm still scared of love" She said, her voice low, almost a whisper. "but I love you"

"What has gotten into you?" He asked "I love you and I know you love me"

"I keep thinking of you and I know that's normal for a girl in love but, I know what happens in the end"

"What do you mean?" He asked

"You're a mortal, I'm a Caster, you know we can't be together" She said, her voice sad "But I don't care."

"I-I… Lena," He began "I admit I'm worried about us too but, we can do something about it, we can find a way. "

"What if we can't?" Her vision now clouded by unshed tears. She didn't want to lose him.

"Then all we have is now" He pulled her closer to him. "Till the day that we can no longer be together, let's be together, like this. You in my arms"

"I don't care if we can't find a way" He heard her murmur in his chest as they both lay again against the tree "I still want to be with you"

"You two make me sick!" Both heard someone say with disgust in their tone.

Both turned to see Reece, her arms crossed in front of her chest.

"Hey Reece" Ethan said sitting up from their position.

"What do you want?" Lena asked, a tone of bitterness sipping in her voice

"Uncle Macon wants to talk to you two" She said before walking away and back to Ravenwood, not waiting for a reply from both

"Well, so much for now" Ethan joked, standing up and helping Lena stand.

Lena laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck and his arm instantly around her waist.

He pressed his lips against hers and once again, both could feel the sparks.

Sparks that were both deadly and yet filled with passion and love.

"Hurry up!" Both pulled away when they heard Reece's voice.

Both laughed and continued to make their way back to Ravenwood, hands intertwined with each other.

The sparks of love buzzing in the air.
