Moment
Disclaimer- I don't own Star Wars.
'Ever think about the future?'
Mara Jade turned to Luke, tearing her attention away from her ships engine.
Luke was leaning against the ships cockpit, looking thoughtful. Mara thought for a moment.
'No, I can't say I do.'
Luke looked surprised. 'Why not?' he asked.
'Because,' Mara picked up some tools and made to return them, 'It's the future,' She returned form the tool shelf,' I'll cross that bridge when I get to it,' She picked up a towel and wiped her hands on it.
Luke shifted round. 'It won't always be.'
'The past is gone, the futures a mystery, but right now is a gift, that's why it's called the present,' She turned and smiled,' I'm staying firmly in the present.'
'Think about the future for a second, where do you want to be?'
'I don't know. Besides, I gave up on wishing a long time ago, i.e., when I became the Emperor's Han,' Mara paused, 'That was never my wish.' She added quietly.
There was silence for a few moments, both people lost in thought.
'What about you, Luke?' Mara said eventually,' Where do you want to be?'
'With someone to love,' he shifted around to face her again,' Don't you want someone to love?'
Mara looked up at him, and for a second, their eyes connected, blue against brown, sky against earth, ice against fire, silver against copper.
For a second, Luke considered leaning in to kiss her, but Mara shrugged and turned away.
And then the moment was gone.
