I'm Me

Author's note:I do not own the chracters for Gundam Seed. This is a short drabble about both Dearkka and Miri and it has been a long long time since I decided to do something romantic and simple. I hope you guys like it and do tell me if you do or don't. If you like it and would like more, tell me too. Who knows something might come up again.

Watching you watching me, we both smiled gently at each other. It was just natural. Your brown hair curling wildly against your creamy skin while my blonde hair stuck up at all directions, we were just like small, young kids, watching each other. Appreciating what we were left with after the war. I was tempted to smirk and say something cocky just to overcome my embarrassment, or maybe just to show you that this was not affecting me in any way but your gentle eyes and that small spark of mirth there reminded me that you knew me better than anyone. And with that feeling I relaxed. I can become me here and you would understand. I did not need that cockiness to make you like me, I did not need my confidence for me to know that you still liked me the way I was.

..And for that you had me.

..And because of that, I fell in love with you.

Watching you watching me, I smiled. You were embarrassed and panicking. You know nothing about the opposite sex and everything about being somebody whom people wanted to kill. You still did not understand what it meant to be subtle, what it meant to be considerate to other people's emotions. But you are kind. And warm. A bright yellow sun.

After Tolle Koeing's death, I did not know if I would be able to stand up again. War as a circumstance, I had to. It was the only way for not dying. Then, you came into my life and I had another meaning to live. I hated you. I hated your inconsideration, your cockiness. But, I know now that those were merely accessories. You could do without them and now, sitting here in front of me, watching me, you have. You are you here and…

…and for that I love you.
