This is my first fanfic, so please be nice :D! This story takes place two years after FFX-2, specifically after the events in the 'perfect ending' so… uh… spoilers.
Disclaimer: I don't own any Final Fantasy or any of the existing characters. I DO own any original characters that I may choose to create in this story.
Final Fantasy X-3: Spiral of Death
Chapter 1: Gullwings Go!
Yuna gazed out at the clear blue sky, filed with fluffy white clouds. The sun beat down hard on her face, and she had to shield her eyes from the light with her hands. She had once looked out at a sky like this, and wished that every day could be so beautiful. Nowadays, she was grateful for her simple and free life. The weather didn't matter.
Below her, she could see the island of Besaid, the place that she grew up in; the place that she loved. She may not have been born there, but Yuna felt that the village was her one true home.
Of course, the Celsius airship was like home too. Why else would she be riding it at that very moment? She had become attached to this airship. It was that which brought her freedom, and a purpose. Yuna lived on the Celsius and helped Spira in times of need. To her, life was perfect.
"Yuna? You okay?" said a voice behind her. The sound made her smile, and the arms around her filled her with warmth. It was Tidus, her lover; her life; her darling; her world; her passion; her present; her future. He was part of what made her life so perfect- he gave her the strength and willpower to overcome anything.
"Yeah, I'm alright." Yuna turned and smiled. "I was just… reminiscing." Tidus' brow furrowed.
"Good stuff or bad?" he asked worriedly.
"Good."
"Phew! I was worried there for a second. We can't have you reliving old memories on a day like this!" He threw his arms out, gesturing at the sky.
"Right!" There was a silence. The two lovers gazed longingly into each other's eyes. Yuna leaned forward and-
The door to the elevator bursting open and a girl running out onto the deck interrupted the moment.
"Yunie! What are you up to?" the girl called. Yuna found herself smiling yet again. It was her best friend Rikku. Rikku was bubbly and energetic to the point of being hyperactive. To someone who didn't know her- and it would be hard to find somebody who didn't- she might seem reckless and uncaring, but Yuna knew that Rikku had a heart of gold and a courageous spirit. The support she had given Yuna over the years had helped her out greatly in all her adventures.
"Hey, Rikku! We were having a private conversation!" she teased.
"Oh, I'm sorry! Were you two… busy?" Rikku retorted, giggling.
"Sounds like you're jealous 'cause I'm taken, Rikku." Tidus remarked, a smirk on his handsome features. The Al Bhed blushed and a look of horror appeared on her face.
"Wh-what? That's not true! That's crazy talk!" she stammered. Tidus laughed, and soon everybody joined in the laughter. Yuna really enjoyed moments like this, the three of them laughing just like they used to during her pilgrimage.
Just then, the sound of the airship's intercom drowned out the laughter. The voice of Buddy, the ship's technical expert, came out.
"All Gullwings, to the bridge, pronto. We've got BIG trouble." Yuna gasped. What was going on?
So, hope you liked it! Please R&R, and don't hold back on any critiscisms. I need to know how to improve. Anyway, I'm about done. See you next time and thanks for reading!
