"Jehan, please!" Courfeyrac cried. "Just let me explain."
"Explain what, Courf? That you love Montparnasse, and not me?" Jehan replied, tears forming in his eyes as he walked down the hospital halls, away from them. "I saw you back there on Monty's bed, kissing him. There's no denying that." He turned around to face Courfeyrac. "I saw you kissing my ex-boyfriend. You, my fiancé, kissing my ex!"
"Jehan, I... I'm sorry, it's true, I can't deny that, but please-"
"No, Courfeyrac. Just... Stop." Jehan turned away again, walking briskly towards the exit of the hospital.
"No, Jehan! You stop." Courfeyrac said, grabbing Jehan's arm. "I-I love you. You know I do. I proved that to you when I asked you to marry me. I meant it. But, I just... I can't explain it. I love Monty, too. I love you both, and I don't know how to explain how I'm feeling."
"Let go of me!" Jehan shouted, wrenching his arm out of Courf's grip. He turned around to face him. "You couldn't have told me, Courf?" He had tears running down his face. "You couldn't have at least tried to explain it to me, before I ended up finding out like this? Especially pretty much right after you proposed!"
"Jehan, love-" Courfeyrac began.
"Don't. Don't call me that." Jehan stopped him.
"Jehan, please, I didn't mean for you to find out this way, I swear. I didn't mean to kiss Monty," He was talking fast, so Jehan couldn't really stop him, "and I was going to tell you, I swear!"
"I don't care, Courf. I don't care." He turned away once more. "Oh, and here. Take your stupid ring back." He yanked the ring off of his finger and tossed it over his shoulder to Courf. "I'm done with you. Done." He ran out the door, tears streaming down his face. He ran down the block, into an alleyway where he leaned against the wall and sank down, down to the ground. He held his head in his hands, sobbing. "Just... Done."
