It was dark in the arch. Darkness, always. Always darkness. Emily had been surrounded by darkness for too long, and soon, she wouldn't be. Emily stood in the arch. She stood by herself, very happy for once. She had gotten her revenge. The man who killed her was dead. But Emily didn't want to go back to the Underworld, now that he was there. She had loved her, and he had took her life. After what happened to her, Emily couldn't take Victor's life. Emily felt tired. She felt more tired then she had in a long time. She had spent so much time under her tree, and then spent so much time waiting for someone to propose to her, that she forgot about her own feelings. She forgot about other peoples feelings, too. She didn't know what it would feel like, to take somebody's else's life for her own. And she didn't know what it would feel like when the other person would be in love with someone else, who wasn't her. Even though she loved Victor so much, she could never take his life. He wanted to be with Victoria, and Emily loved him enough to know it. It would never work, at all. She was dead. She was dead, and forever dead, and Victor was still alive. Even if it weren't her choice, Emily had died.
Emily smiled at Victor.
"Thank you, Victor" Emily whispered.
"Wait, I made a promise" Victor said, stepping toward Emily. Emily gave him and half smile, and took the ring off her finger, taking Victor's hand, and gave him back the ring. Victor gave her a shocked, and hurt look.
"You kept your promise, you set me free" Emily said. "I love you, Victor." Emily didn't expect Victor to answer. Emily turned toward the arch again.
"I love you, too" Victor said.
"No. You love Victoria. Be with her, Victor" Emily said, turning, and smiling at Victoria. Victoria's eyes filled with tears. She had judged Emily before she ever knew her, and she couldn't believe how Emily would love someone, and just let him go, for her. For a stranger, who was already married to the man that Victoria loved.
"Thank you, Emily" Victoria said. Victor gave Victoria's hand a squeeze, and walked to Emily.
"If this is my last chance to be your husband, then I'll take it" Victor said. Victoria stared at Victor, with more tears falling down her face. Victor too Emily's hand, and kiss her. Emily felt happiness, sadness, depression, and betrayal. The betrayal was about Victoria. Victor loved her, and yet, he was standing there with Emily. When Victor pulled away, Emily hugged him.
"Be with Victoria, Victor. Promise me you'll be with her and love her" Emily said, and turned. She stood in the arch. She was ready. She took a deep, deep breath, as her skin turned to butterflies, slowly making it's way to her face. Emily left the world happy, for finally finding the perfect man, who she loved so much. She could never be with him, since his heart belonged to another. She had finally gotten that man back. Emily was happy.
"No!" Victor cried. "Emily!" Tears filled his eyes. He fell to his knees. He had promised to be with her. He would've died for her. He wanted to die for her. He did love her. But, at the same time, he loved Victoria. All he knew was he didn't want Emily to be gone. He loved her.
"Victor?" Victoria asked. Victor didn't answer. He couldn't. He wished for Emily. He knew he could never forget her. He could never forget his bride. His Corpse Bride.
Fin.
