A zombie apocalypse. If someone had walked up to me last year saying that's how the world was going to end, I would have laughed in their face wondering if they had fallen and bumped their head. Though, today it's no laughing matter. This has become our reality. It all began on January 24, 2022 with what everyone thought was just a routine flu vaccination. They aren't sure what exactly happened with this batch of vaccine. Some say it was contaminated and others say it was definitely a terrorist attack. However, I believe it was just nature's way of reestablishing order in an otherwise chaotic society.
The batch of virus-tainted vaccine was distributed to patients throughout Saint Luke's Memorial Hospital in downtown New York City, Reister's General Hospital in Los Angeles, and Seattle Memorial Hospital in Seattle. Approximately 1,000 + people had been exposed to the virus within that first week, No one knew that something so mundane could turn so deadly so quickly. The first news report came after a man on a flight from New York to Shoreline, WA had died sudden;y from cardiac arrest, and as witnesses describe "came back as something unnatural". Before becoming subdued he had bitten several other passengers. The second story occurred after a woman had boarded a subway train in Los Angeles to Anaheim. Fellow passengers say a man pulled a knife on her and demanded her purse. After getting stabbed the woman became volatile and erratic. The train was stopped and authorities were called after she grabbed a small child and ripped his jugular out with her teeth. The third news story took place on a Greyhound traveling from Seattle, WA to Trenton, NJ when a stray bullet came out of nowhere, striking an elderly passenger in the temple. Believing he was killed instantly witnesses were sent into a fit of panic when a few moments later he began convulsing and trying to bite other passengers who were trying to help.
Within four days of the initial three attacks the virus outbreak had spread throughout multiple cities within New New York, Washington, California, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Everyone who had been injected with the disease-vaccine only exhibits symptoms after "dying a human death". Those not injected become infected after suffering a bite or scratch form a symptomatic individual, and in these cases their symptoms appear rather quickly.
Traveling by means such as planes, buses, subways, etc. increased the rate by which this deadly virus has spread and continued to spread. By tracking patterns of infection and the ways the infected individuals have traveled, scientists have predicted that the next locations the virus will most likely become prevalent in is Miami, Fl; Dallas, TX; and Houston, TX. These are rather densely populated cities, where a lot of traveling occurs each day. I on the other hand believe that the next places to become infected will be Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; and Portland, OR. With so many people running scared and trying to outrun this inevitable demise they will try to any place that hasn't yet had a documented case and these particular places leave them with some sense of hope. But i am more realistic then that, and I know there is no hope in an Zombie Apocalypse.
