Prologue
Back, during the Age of Dragons, the world was still young, unformed, shrouded by fog. It was a land devoid of life. Ruled by the five colors of primordial dragons, and overseen by their children, the world did not move forward but was kept in a perpetual state of now. That is until the coming of the great and powerful, god-like being by the name of Ender. Ender, unhappy with the way things have been going on, challenged the primordial dragons for the right to rule this young world. Ender very quickly found out that he was no match for the power of the weakest primordial dragons, let alone the strongest ones. That is until the black dragon Kra'therist told him of the secret to obtain the power to overthrow the rule of the primordial dragons that were too scared to move forward into the future. The black primordial dragon, Calamity, was in possession of a crystal of immortality that made the dragons, well, immortal.
Upon hearing the news Ender was overjoyed, and if this giant eyeball with tentacles could jump up and down for joy he would be doing just that. Ender's gaze turned towards Kra'therist in surprise as he heard the mighty dragon howl in pain. The sight that Ender witnessed was, interesting to say the least. The dragon was writhing in pain and rapidly shrinking to one-third of his true size.
"What is going on?" Ender inquired in his raspy, cold, malevolent voice. Ender was honestly curious as to what was happening to this dragon that has betrayed the secrets of his brethren to him, Ender.
"Seems like my brethren have… argh… discovered my tre-eachery!" Kra'therist ground out between screams of pain. Then, just as he finished spitting out that sentence, a howl of pain erupted from his throat as a blazing blue fire engulfed him. The dragon was writhing in obvious agony, many different emotions flashing through his azure eyes. Ender watched on with unbound curiosity to see what the dragons do to traitors.
When it became obvious though that they were planning on burning him to death Ender decided to act fast. He still needed more information on this, primordial crystal and if the dragons killed his only source of information Ender would be in a very tight spot. Enders pupil shot open to at least twice its original size. Next tendrils of dark blue magic shout out of it and began to envelop the writhing dragon.
"This is going to hurt." Ender simply stated, without a care in the world. The magic tendrils began to creep into the dragon through his moth, eyes, nostrils and ears. Muffled agonizing scream after muffled agonizing scream cascaded out of the dragon's mouth as he began to transform. His long neck and tail elongated even further and spines began protrude along the top of his spinal cord. A pair of jagged horns erupted from the base of his skull.
"W-w-what h-have you done to m-me." Kra'therist stuttered as he tried to catch his breath, which was proving to be very difficult.
"I gave you a new life." Ender simply said with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
"You wouldn't do that just to save me, so what's your ulterior motive?" A sigh escape Kra'therist's jaws as he stared at his 'savior'.
"Well about that Crystal of Immortality…"
. . . . .
Ender looked the giant, seven-headed dragon coolly into the eyes. He didn't care if this was the strongest primordial dragon for Ender was now immortal. The tentacles hanging from the bottom of the floating eyeball were dangling with a large sense of boredom.
"So you're the wretched eyeball that has not only saved that traitor and turned him into one of your servants but also used the worm to steal the Crystal of Immortality for yourself!" Calamity's seven heads roared in pure hatred. Ender remained unfazed.
"Your kind refused to move this world along and refused to give it to me to make progress so I decided to usurp the right to rule this world from you wee little dragons. Is it really that hard to understand?" Ender's eye rolled in frustration. After another roar of pure, unbound hatred Calamity leapt at Ender. Ender was by no means a small eyeball, towering at five hundred meters, but Calamity was taller. Even though Calamity had no legs to speak of his three tails did a fine job to keep him standing, his seven heads roaring in bitter anger and spewing black flame everywhere. Ender though remained unscathed through Calamity's ruthless attacks. He then decided that he had grown tired of the dragons pointless wailing and flailing, so Ender went on the offensive.
Calamity looked down as he felt something sharp pierce his chest. As he saw the spear of deep purple energy he was surprised and lost focus on Ender, which was his first and last mistake as seven smaller but equally deadly energy spears pierced each one of Calamity's seven heads. The world around Calamity dissolved to darkness and then he was falling.
"Now where did that bastard go?" Ender questioned as he looked around. He has killed many dragons, primordial and not, and none of them have ever dissolved into thin air. Oh well.
"Congratulations master." Kra'therist, the Ender Dragon, landed softly next to Ender, "You have defeated Calamity, the last primordial dragon aside from the Leviathan!"
"Well, in all honesty even with the Crystal of Immortality the Leviathan could still kill me. I was very glad indeed when he decided to leave me alone if I left him alone. Now it is time for us to return to the End in order to begin preparations for the cleansing and rebuilding of this world. With that Ender opened a portal and began to float through, followed closely by his servant, replaying one thought in his head over and over again. Oh Calamity, into which of the many unfortunate dimensions did your dying and bleeding carcass fall.
. . . . .
"Oi Fatass! What do you think you're doing?!" Lucerase, the Lord of Despair was straightening his dress with his hands; the tentacles drooping from his slick shiny head were waving around in anger, his dorsal fins and wings were folding and unfolding in annoyance. He was having a bit of a struggle trying to stand up since he had not legs, but a mass of tentacles beneath his dress.
"Hey it wasn't me! Garatual pushed me!" Azazeliel, the Lord of Anger was toppled over and squirming on his back, his six spider-like legs waving in the air, "CAN SOMEONE HELP ME UP!"
"Garatual… why did you push Azazeliel?" Terrorform, the Lord of Terror, his spike and horn covered form, inquired as he attempted to help Azazeliel up, "Oh my Ender, you are heavy."
"I did no such thing, I most definitely never pushed piggy over there." Garatual, the Lord of Lies managed to say it with a straight face but the moment the words left his mouth he doubled over in laughter.
"That pretty much gave it away. Rakanor can you help me lift Azazeliel?" Terrorform asked the creature that seemed to be the only one not enjoying this moment. His head had a large resemblance to that of a shark with no eyes, except he had a long pony tail made out of bone. He was quite muscular, but where his forearms should have ended there were a pair of wicked looking blades. He had what seemed to be a tattered lower part of a dress that concealed his legs along with a bony tail.
"No wonder we always get our asses handed to us by the Ender. You, my brothers, are a bunch of morons!" Rakanor, the Lord of War pointed to the comedic group with one blade as he made his way over to Terrorform who was still struggling to lift up Azazeliel.
"I do believe we just might be the most pathetic excuse for Demon Lords in the history of ever." Cairin, the Lord of Domination sighed as he sat down with a smile on his face the flame on his head shining with a vivid orange light his four hands resting on his lap. The two serpent like creatures that protruded from his back stared at the group.
"When you guys finish with your bickering and what not we should continue with the summoning process." Albaron, the Lord of Death inquired in a bored tone. He had no legs for all that was visible when his flesh ended was a hip bone with a bony tail. He had a pair of long skinny arms that ended on hands which each contained four digits each ending on a long razor sharp claw. He was kept afloat by two giant wings that were made up of two digits with patches of skin stretched between them. His head had four horns protruding from the top and one more large curved horn protruding from either side of the head. His glowing blue eyes were unnerving to say the least. His skin was a sickly pale white.
"And why is that? Even before Mr. I-cannot-tell-the-truth over there shoved fatso we were getting no progress done." Lucerase asked but flinched as there was a loud crash followed by even more of Garatual's laughter. He looked over to where the sound came from and saw that in the process of pulling Azazeliel up both Rakanor and Terrorform were pulled to the ground.
"Yes and even if we do continue I doubt we would get anything done now, the mood has completely disappeared." Cairin looked up from where he was fidgeting with some rocks.
"I guess you are both right." Albaron looked about his brothers and a small smile crossed his lips. They were weird, they were demons, but they were a happy family of sorts, since all seven of them did come for each one of Calamity's seven heads when he fell into this world, his black blood corrupting this world and its inhabitants, turning this once beautiful world into the Nether.
. . . . .
"So how have you been, my brothers and sisters?" A beautiful voice rang through the hall of glory in the Golden Palace, a massive structure in the End built by the Ender for his archangels. The voice belonged to none other than Sidra, the Archangel of Spirit. She had silky white hair that streamed behind her as she walker. Her white energy wings were flowing behind her.
"Sidra!" Sidra was suddenly knocked to the ground by a young looking archangel with short pale green hair and pale green wings, "I missed you so much!"
Sidra looked down at the archangel that was hugging her with such vigor, "I missed you too Avia, but you do know that I have to be with my husband and daughter."
Avia, the Archangel of Life looked up with renewed vigor, "How is little Luna?!"
"She is doing fine."
"AHEM!" A loud cough resounded through the hallway. The cough came from an archangel with an iron helmet on. His wings, the color of iron, were spread out behind him, "Avia get back to the table! Sidra, dear, would you please join us."
"Of course Orvin." Sidra said with a smile.
"Good."
"Welcome back Sidra, how is dear Joshua doing?" An archangel with blood red hair and wings inquired.
"He is doing fine Mayda." Sidra said with a happy smile. She was always happy to talk about Luna or Joshua.
"Unlike most of those present here Ender still strongly disapproves of your relationship with Joshua, as, to be frank, so do I." Theron, the Archangel of Justice, a stunning looking archangel with golden hair and wings stated with a little malice.
"Theron, I really do not care what you think." Sidra shot back at Theron.
"Quiet everyone. We still have very important matters involving the Nether Lords and the Overworld to discuss." An old man with shining light blue hair and wings said. The man was Yackez, the Archangel of Mortals.
"You are very correct in that matter Yackez. Sidra are you aware of what has been going on while you were in the Overworld?" Orvin leaned in with a deadly serious voice.
"No…" Sidra couldn't help but get a feeling of dread since Orvin's eyes bore into her with intent.
"Well it appears that the Nether Lords have managed to open up a portal to the Overworld." Avia said with a tone that only barely hid her anger.
"WHAT?!" Sidra jumped up from her chair. Theron simply scoffed.
"Yes and not only that but it appears that Albaron released a miasma of death and disease. Also the dead seem to be rising out of their tombs and assaulting villages, towns and cities, leveling them to the ground." Theron leaned back in the chair and began to play with his hair out of annoyance.
"And to make matters even worse it seems one of the gate demons has appeared near the Erwin Planes." Mayda didn't realize the significance of what she just said until she saw the look of horror that crossed Sidra's face.
"Joshua…" Sidra's voice was barely a whisper, but the hint of horror was definitely there.
"Now Sidra don't do anything rash." Yackez looked at Sidra with worried eyes but it was too late for she was already storming out of the hallway and towards the portal. Yackez went to rise but Orvin's firm hand kept him seated.
"Let her go, she won't listen to us anyway. Plus it's only a gate demon, and she is an archangel. She will be alright." Orvin said reassuringly.
"I hope you're right."
. . . . .
Sidra appeared at the doorstep to Joshua's little hut and began to knock franticly. When the door finally opened she breathed a sigh of relief. A tall man was standing in the doorway. He had deep purple eyes; his robe had a lot of patchwork done on it, his hood was pulled up so it revealed the Ender Eye spinning and going wild in its socket. Same thing was happening to the Ender Eye in his scepter. All in all he was obviously an Ender Monk.
"Sidra? What brings you here? I thought you were called to a meeting in the Golden Palace." Joshua inquired as she hugged him. He was deeply confused. When she broke the hug she looked him square in the eyes and said.
"Joshua, take Luna and hide. A gate demon has appeared in close proximity to here. I will go and close the portal so nothing worse comes out."
"Will you be alright?" Joshua asked this with a worried tone, "Do you need for me to fetch Sheepoos?"
"No Joshua, by the time he gets here it might be too late." Sidra looked him in the eyes, "I love you."
"I know, bye Sidra, come back safe." And with that Joshua ran back into the house.
"Well what do we have here, an archangel, very intriguing, but highly disturbing." A low voice whispered. The voice seemed to cut Sidra's skin like a knife. Sidra spun around and ran towards the direction of the voice. She saw the gate demon begin to loom in front of her as a terrifying black creature of shadows and flame. It sensed her as she drew nearer and turned to face her, revealing her worst fears to be true.
"Wow, and the idiot rushes here anyway. You archangels just can't stay in the Ender and leave us alone now could you. I mean it's not as if we are killing the mortals, just turning them." Lucerase shook his head in disgust, "Dor'thentark, you can eat her." With that he turned to leave through the portal.
Without any words Sidra drew her blade and charged Lucerase's retreating form, but her attack was blocked by a humongous flaming blade. Lucerase looked back at Sidra and shrugged his shoulders before disappearing back to the Nether to tell his brothers. Sidra looked up at the gate demon and let out a fierce growl before jumping back and out of the reach of the flaming blade. She had to finish this quickly and seal the gate before the armies of the Nether poured out from this portal.
"I will not let you close The Gates." The gate demon ground out before roaring and charging Sidra. Sidra couldn't block the giant weapon with her small blade so she rolled out of the way of the vertical swing. The gate demon snorted in anger and spread out his wings with a roar that made his flames glow even more fiercely, if that was even possible. Sidra knew that every minute that the demon spent alive subtracted from the time she had left to close the portal.
"I will slay you demon, and then I will destroy the portal so your masters can't get through." Sidra spat the phrase out. The demon just looked at her in confusion.
"You're not strong enough." It said with such belief in its own words that Sidra got angrier than she previously was. She screamed in pure hatred and drew all of her energies into her blade and charged the demon. She ducked under the mighty horizontal swing and flew into the air on her wings. The gate demon just stared at Sidra in disbelief.
"But they said-" The last image the demon saw was a Sidra's blade piercing his skull right between the eyes. He didn't even get a chance to respond as the blade punctured his brain, killing him instantly.
"Seems like they underestimated my strength." Sidra stated proudly wiping her blade clean from the black demon blood on the ground. There was no need to worry about the blood corrupting the ground since the corruption from the portal already accomplished that, "Now to close that accursed portal."
Sidra kneeled in front of the portal and began to chant the spell used to close the portal. It was very useful to know the Daemonic language since the spells cast by it are second to none. But Sidra was not aware that Lucerase placed a hidden curse on the gate, for after Sidra finished closing the portal, without a warning, all of her life energy was drained. Sidra watched the ground quickly speed up to meet her. So on that day the Lords of the Nether killed their first archangel of the Archangel of Spirit, Sidra, lay dead on the cold corrupted ground.
