I watch, terrified as the blade makes contact with Will's chest. I manifest, letting my wings free and try to stop it, but I am too late. Dander smiles in satisfaction. Then he pulls the knife out of Will and turns toward me. "I always knew there was something weird about you. But now there won't be a you." Instinct kicks in and I do the one thing that can save me I like him up in flames. He screams and rolls around on the ground but I won't let the flames die. I keep pounded him with fire until his flesh is no longer and he lies still.
"That's for Will." Then I run over to where my love's body lays motionless. "WILL!" He moans.
"Jacinda." He breathes. It's the last of him. He becomes a heap on the ground. I bawl my eyes out with my head on his chest.
I need to go back to the pride. I stand up and take one last look at Will's lifeless body. "Good-bye Will." I walk through the woods and demanifest taking new clothes out of my backpack and put them on. I get a bus to Chaparral. Once there I start to walk. In the distance I can see the fog of Tamra's shading. I walk up to the guard and he lets me in and I start over to Cassian's house. I knock on the door and wait.
Finally, he opens the door and looks at me shocked. "Jacinda-"I cut his words off by bringing his mouth down to mine. I kiss him with all I have, letting him know that I love him. We both break away gasping for air. "What was that?" He asks looking into my eyes.
"Cassian I've denied it many times but I love you." I say bringing my lips back to his. He pulls me into the house and closes the door with his foot. Then before I know we're in the bedroom, and I am ready to finally lose my virginity. The next morning I wake up to be entwined with Cassian in bed. It seems like a dream, but it's real. I smile recalling everything that happened last night. The way he touched me send chills down my body and it was like an electric shock every time his fingertips brushed against me.
He must have noticed me being awake because Cassian stretches and sits up. "Wow." Is all he says before bringing me on top of him and kissing me. We kiss for I don't even know how long. It was amazing but finally we decided to get dressed and go into the township to let other no that I am back for good.
