"Man I still can' believe he is gone", Cat said as she was looking at the tablet. "He sacrificed himself for the greater good", Carter said. All of noble team was hurt by his death even Emile. They knew they needed a replacement but it wouldn't be the same. They had a list of Spartans for the job. They narrowed it down to two.
"Kat what is the two Spartans names?"
"Dalton D5D5 and Dereck D77.", Kat said as she brung up a picture of a man that looked like a 18 year old: He had brown hair which was a buzz cut. He wore a MJOLNIR Mark V helmet(Similar To Master Chief's), He had just regular default chest armor, Default shoulder armor, on his wrist he had a UGPS, Fg/Para knee guards, his armor was the color yellow.
"What is Dalton's skills?", Carter asked.
"He is very good with machines and he is a expert at melee combat, he was also a pilot in the sabre program-"
"He was what now?", Carter interrupted.
"As I was saying before you rudely interrupted was that he was also a pilot in the sabre program.", Cat said as she read the tablet.
"His choice of weapons is Assault Rifle and Magnum", Kat said.
"What about Dereck?",Carter asked.
"His skills are marksmanship, swordsmanship, stealth, Hand to Hand Combat, he is also a pilot in the sabre program-", Kat said as she looked on the tablet the picture was of a 20 year old men with light brown hair, he wore a ODST helmet with a blue visor, he had a Ammo belt vertically across his chest, He had regular Knee guards, On his wrist he had a tac-pad.
"He is too?", Carter interrupted.
"Would you stop that, his preferred weapons are a sniper rifle, dual-wield smgs", Kat said.
"So who do you think we need?", Kat asked.
"I think we should take both of them", Carter said.
"Okay I'm email Holland that", Cat said as she called Holland.
A Day Later
July 4th,2552
I look at my helmet and seen my reflection as I put my helmet on. Hello my name is Dalton D5D5 and I have been chosen to be the 7th member of Noble Team. "You ready kid", Six said as we rode as he drove the warthog.
"Yeah, I am.", I said.
Later we arrived to our destination and we got out. As we walked I seen a bald guy which we waved at. I also seen a guy with a skeleton carved into his EVA helmet. We were about to walk into the room when a girl with light blue armor stopped us. Six was in a trance until elbowed him.
I heard a little bit of The leader who was in a cobalt blue armor talking to Holland.
"I responded with fire teams which have yet to report back, we can't let that happen, Reach is just too important", Holland said.
The girl finally talked and said, "There here commander."
Hey Six, Seven, Let introduce you to the team, that's Kat, that's George, Emile, Jun, and I'm Carter.", He said.
We walked outside to where a falcon was waiting for us.
"I wouldn't lie to you lieutenant, your filling a position that the rest of the team would rather leave unfilled, I am just glad to have noble team back together, All that lone wolf stuff stays behind", Carter said.
"Got it sir", Six said as we got on the falcon.
From what I've heard our mission was to see what was causing the disturbance at the relay outpost. They thought it was rebels. Nothing to much for Spartans to handle or at least I thought. I know this is off topic but I always favored assault rifles and a magnum. Six had a sniper rifle and two dual wield smgs. I sat on the outside of the falcon in one of the chairs where you man the machine gun. Six sat on the inside with
Carter and George. We eventually landed and I pulled my Assault
Rifle off my back and Six grabbed his two dual-wield smgs off his waist.
"Alright noble team caught the area as Carter checked his dmr.
Each Spartan had their own unique weapon. Kat had a Magnum, George had a heavy Machine gun, Jun had a sniper rifle but he wasn't on ground, Carter had a Dmr, Me a assault rifle, Dereck Dual wield smgs.
We walked our way down to the a house where the was a beacon. Emile removed a piece of wood that was on top of the beacon. There was also a blew up warthog, Something wasn't right here.
"There's a lot of blood on the ground, plasma burns", Emile said.
"Can't be, not on reach", George said.
I was hoping it ain't who I thought it was. The covenant was my worst fear. They took away part of my family. When I was 13 my dad went on a business trip to a nearby planet to share his data he received on forerunner objects. The covenant attacked the planet and when search and rescue parties went to find him they didn't. They saw no sign of him and decided to quit the search. They listed him as MIA. That's when I joined the UNSC to became a Spartan. I know it isn't a volunteer thing but I volunteered so they gave me a 3year training course and I joined when I was 15. Became a Spartan when I was 18. This is actually my first real mission. In training I was the kid who everybody beat up. I thought they were jerks but actually they were helping me out.
"Seven you there", Six said as I got out of my daydream.
"Yeah, I'm fine I said.
"Good, now keep focus.", Six said.
"Multiple heat signatures in that house!", Jun said over the comm.
We ran to our house, with guns pointed. A guy walked out with people looking through the windows.
"On your knees know!", Emile yelled.
"Their not rebels, there civilians, George ask them what their doing here", Carter ordered.
"There hiding sir, said something in the field killed his son.", George translated.
"Tell them to get inside", Carter ordered.
"Husson Beffele Gette", George said in some different language,
We walked into another house and we seen the dead marines. The sight and smell nearly made me puke but luckily I didn't.
"What in the world, what monster could have done this.", Carter said as he seen the dead marines.
"They must have been interrogated, its messy, alright everyone move out.", Carter ordered.
We then moved out and entered another building, I heard a sound that sounded like something crawling.
"Watch your motion trackers", Carter ordered.
"Multiple heat signatures outside this building!", Jun yelled through the comms.
"Move in Noble Team, prepared to be flanked!", Carter yelled.
"This was it." , I thought. We were going to fight right here.
Six and me moved in to the building and that was then we heard a cocking sound. I aimed my magnum at the Bird-like creature and fired. Hitting it in the head killing it.
"Covenant!", George yelled.
"Six, Seven move downstairs and finish them.", Carter yelled.
Me and Six headed downstairs. I threw a frag grenade and it blew up the bird things. Six fired his smgs at the mask wearing ugly things. I put away my magnum and pulled out my assault rifle and shot the remaining ugly things. Thr remaining one started running away so I shot its tank sending screaming and flying until it exploded and died.
"It's the covenant.", George said sorrowfully.
"Cheer up big man, this party is just getting started.", Emile said.
"I can't believe their here, what is going to happen to reach.", I panicked.
"Everyone stay calm, we to head to the next area ,everyone move out", Carter ordered.
We moved out and I took out my magnum and used the reticule to aim at the grunt who had a plasma pistol charging up getting ready to shoot it. I aimed at him and fired hitting it in the head killing it. Six took out his smgs and fired at the ugly things and bird like creatures killing them. A covenant dropship dropped a really tall creature that looked strong. There were also bird creatures with shields.
"Six, Seven take care of those elites", Carter said.
"So that is what those thing are I thought", I thought.
Six charge at one of the elites firing his smgs destroying the elites shield. The elite fired his gun which shot explosive plasma. Six dodged it and hit the elite with the butt of his gun killing it.
I charged at the remaining elite and shot my assault rifle at it, taking all 32 bullets. Once the elites shield was down I switched to my magnum and shot him in the chest killing him. I looked around and saw a bunch of dead aliens meaning the area was clear.
"Kat, I need you and Emile at that relay outpost, me, Six, George, and Seven will run recognizance on the ground.", Carter ordered.
We ran to where two trucks were.
"Get on those trucks noble.", Carter said.
Six, Carter and George got on a green truck and I got on the orange truck. We drove to a group of houses and came upon Covenant. There were the bird things with the shields and the really fast ones which we faced on the trucks. I just ran over them and George shot them. We got off the trucks and faced the covenant. The ugly things were shooting plasma pistols at us. I easily took them out with my magnum. All of the sudden a elite came and kicked me and then threw me. I got back up and grab my magnum and as he charged toward me I dodged his attack and jumped on top of him and shot him in the head killing him. A grunt ran toward me with plasma grenades until a shot hit him in the head killing him and detonating the grenades making his methane tank blow up.
"Cutting it a little close aren't we rook", Carter said as he rgoeloaded his dmr.
"Thanks.", I said gratefully.
"Alright everyone move out, area clear.", Carter said.
We got on the trucks and moved out. All of the sudden a marine came over the comm.
"Repeat this is Charlie 1we have been attacked by the covenant, Repeat the covenant is on reach, repeat the covenant is on reach.", the marine said.
"Jun get us their position.", Carter ordered.
"Sir don't we have more important things than to round up strays", Jun said over the comm.
"We don't leave a men behind, that's an order, Six get us there.", Carter ordered.
"Yes sir.", Six said.
"There at a abandoned garage.", Jun said over the comm.
"Got it, Six hurry!", Carter ordered.
We raced to the garage where bird things and elites and gas breathing small things. We ran over a couple of them. We jumped out of the truck and started to fire our weapons. Six killed a group of grunts with a frag grenade. The marines were doing a good job fighting too. Carter shot a elite multiple times it the head killing it. George used his Gatlin gun to kill a big group of cuts.
"Another dropship inbound.", Carter said.
As the Covenant dropped down I immediately tackled the elite and took my magnum and shot it in the head. Six shot his smgs at the other elite killing him in one round. I grabbed my assault rifle and shot a bird thing hands making him flinch exposing himself so I killed it. After all the covenant was killed there we got on a falcon.
The ride there was nothing really special. Until we reach the relay outpost.
"Put us down pilot.", Carter said.
"LZ is a little hot sir.", the pilot said.
"I don't care put us down.", Carter said as we landed.
We got out and fought our way through the covenant until we reached Kat.
"How we doing Kat?", Carter asked.
"About there, still need a little time.", Cat said annoyed.
Meanwhile…
"Do they ever give up?", I said as I killed a elite and two bird things with a frag gernade.
"No, they do not?", Six replied.
I was about out of ammo in my assault rifle and my magnum.
"I only have 96 bullets left!", I yelled.
"You'll live.", Emile replied.
"You're a jerk, you know that.", I said.
"I know.", Emile said as he killed a elite with one shot from his shotgun.
Six shot a ugly thing in the methane tank sending it flying toward the a group of jackals killing them in the explosion. I switched to my magnum trying to conserve my ammo. I shot a Bird thing that was trying to snipe me.
"Alright got it.", Kat said.
"Alright, everyone inside!", Carter ordered.
We ran inside and the door closed. I could see a dropship which shot a plasma shot which hit me sending me back. It knocked my shield out which regenerated. The door closed and we investigated the outpost.
"Man.", I said as I seen the dead marines.
"I know its awful.", Six said.
"Can't see a thing, everyone turn on your night vision.", Carter ordered.
We turned on our night vision and I could see a whole lot later. I seen a dead body. It was a old men.
"Six, check that body.", Kat said.
Six checked it and found something.
"Found something.", Six said.
"I'll take that, Notro Doman.", Kat said which only could be a thank you.
Carter seen a Corporal and went to aid him.
"What happened Corporal?", Carter asked.
"I lost them, It sounded bad over the comms.", the corporal said sorrowfully.
'Don't worry, we'll get you a combat surgeon.", Carter said.
George found a girl which tried to fight him.
"George restrain her", Carter ordered.
All of the sudden a Elite jumped out in red and blue armor with a energy sword charged toward us.
"Bad guy coming out!", Carter yelled.
We fired our guns and it broke his shield. A elite jumped on Six and tried to stab him but six hit him and the elite roared and ran away. Kat kicked me my assault rifle.
"Five, Six, Seven clear the hole.", Carter ordered.
We entered the darkness and George closed the door. George threw a flare which attracted the ugly things which I threw a frag grenade killing them. We continued down the hall until we came to a bunch of bird things. I started punching a good bit of them to death. We seen a elite roaring sending the ugly things and bird things to us.
"I'll stay back and provide cover fire, y'all move in and take them out, good luck.", George said.
Me and Six moved in and took out the grunts. A elite with a energy sword came out of no where and stabbed the energy sword above me.
"Seven, you okay?", Six asked concerned.
"I'm fine, just go!", I yelled.
Six ran to take on the other elite. The elite was still trying to get his energy sword out so I tackled him and got one punch knocking his shield down. He kicked me off and while he was trying to get up I grabbed his energy sword and reignited it and stabbed him with it. It ran out of energy so I picked up my assault rifle and magnum and ran toward the power room where Six had the elite dead with a knife in him.
"Token care of.", Six said as he laughed.
"And I thought Emile was violent.", I laughed.
"Kat needs you to reset adjunction, do it now.", Carter ordered over the comm breaking the laughter.
We headed toward the main room where George was trying to comfort the girl. They were talking in a different language.
"Your accent sounds familiar, Champlain.", George said.
"Changeree.", the girl said.
"Friend.", George said.
"Father.", She said.
"Chinalong I'm sorry.", George said.
"Why would you be?"
"Big man forget who he is sometimes.", Emile said.
"She just lost her father.", George said angrily.
"She needs a full physiatrist workout."
"She's not the only one.", Emile said.
"Lock it down both of you, the body stays here."
"Thank you sir."
As we left the room I heard him talking.
"Captain report."
"Sir the covenant is on reach."
"Did you say covenant."
"May God be with us"
Later at the barracks I took my armor off. Got a well deserved nap and know I knew the aliens names. The bird things are jackals and skirmishers. You get the jist. I knew there was a long battle ahead. Abattle I'm not sure we could win.
