Hello all! I apologize for not posting anything for a while, just haven't really felt up to it, but here is some Merthur that was inspired by my sisters obsession with Merlin.
Disclamir: I OWN NOTHING! Merlin belongs to BBC, which is obviously not me.
ENJOY!
Silence filled the room, all except the soft breathing coming from the bed graciously adorned with thick blankets and mounds of pillows. In the bed was a man, hair a dirty blonde, broad shouldered, strong jawed, and arms reaching out for something.
The door to the room creaked open slightly and a raven-haired man poked his head through. He wiggled his way into the room, trying to make as little noise as possible. It wasn't too hard, given his meager size and gangly body. Once in the room he straightened his neckerchief that rested around his neck.
"Arthur?" he asked, walking towards the man on the bed. He watched his master's eyebrows furrow and chuckled at the sight, it was actually quite adorable. "It's time to get up, Arthur."
For this he received a groan and Arthur reached his arms out farther from the warmth of the covers. "No, Mer'in, we're sta'ing 'ere," he grumbled out.
Merlin shook his head, smiling softly. "You have things that need to get done today, maybe another day," he said. Merlin felt a hands grasp around his waist and squawked indignantly as he was pulled to the bed.
Arthur quickly lifted the covers and tucked them both in, Merlin's sharp cheekbones digging in to his collarbone. Arthur gave a content sigh and wrapped his arms tighter around the smaller man, kissing the mop of black hair.
Merlin gave Arthur a goofy smile and snuggled a little closer. "What has you so affectionate today?" he asked.
He watched Arthur's shoulders tense and move up in a shrug. "Doesn't matter, just stay," he replied firmly.
Merlin sighed and relaxed into Arthur's touch. "It'd be bad if a guard came in and saw the prince the bed with a servant," he said softly.
Arthur pushed Merlin away from him a little so he could look into Merlin's eyes. "Then marry me," he replied calmly. "They can't say anything if you're beside me."
Merlin gaped at Arthur, blue eyes staring in disbelief. "I-I'm sorry, what?" Merlin asked.
Arthur grinned at the slighter man. "I said, 'marry me'," he said.
Merlin sputtered helplessly, his eyes full of confusion. "Y-you can't just spring that on someone!" He whispered heatedly, his face flushing red. "I thought you were all about romantic extravaganzas?"
Arthur grinned and rubbed their noses together. "I thought this counted as romantic," he said innocently. "How often do I pull you onto my bed so that we can just lay together under my sheets."
Merlin gave a half-hearted shrug, eyes still wide. "So, can I take your reaction for a yes, or do I have to sit here awkwardly with a no?" Arthur asked seriously.
A smile bloomed across Merlin's face. "Of course it's a yes, you prat," he said happily, wrapping his arms around Arthur's neck. Arthur's face looked relieved, if only a bit annoyed at the use of his dreaded nickname during such an emotional moment, but he couldn't really blame Merlin.
"That is definitely a relief, clotpole," Arthur said, smiling happily.
I hope you all enjoyed that and please review if you have the time!
