Sitting in the Great Hall one morning Kaleigh was hardly touching her breakfast as her gaze drifted across the room to the Slytherin table. She looked down the rows until her gaze rested on him sitting by himself hardly touching his food. The most hated person in the entire 6th year class and the object of people's torture especially that of Sirius Black and James Potter. Though she never spoke a word to him for Gryffindors never associated with Slytherins she couldn't help but find herself staring at him from afar. In class she would watch him out of the corner of her eyes; the way he was so concentrated on finishing his work. And thought he busied himself reading and doing schoolwork she sometimes would meet his gaze and in his dark eyes she could see pain and sadness. She always wondered what could be the cause for so much hurt in one's eyes that could easily be read and it always had her wondering if she could ever muster of the courage to talk to him.

Many people would refer to her actions as obsessed or crazy in love, but she would view it as more of curiosity. She wanted to know what pain he experiences and what makes him appear to be so sad all the time, why he was so lonely and why everyone hated him so much. She wanted to know why he always isolated himself rather then trying to be more social and try to talk to other people. She would sit and wonder what interested him and why he was stereotyped as an evil person and if he really was, in fact, evil as they all say or if he was the total opposite.

Kaleigh knew her thoughts were just wishful thinking and she knew that never would she be able to learn anything about this boy; the boy who she had come to admire and want to get to know…Severus Snape.
