Paul McCartney: A boy who just made it big!
We all know Sir Paul McCartney as a great solo singer with great talent, especially for pop music. Before he was successful as a solo artist, he was in an incredible group: The Fab 4, The Beatles! My 2nd favourite Beatle, nice personality and a good sense of humour...
Paul McCartney was born in Liverpool on 18th June 1942. He was a young boy with a guitar... never knowing what the future would bring him. He was young when he met the great and his best friend John Lennon, they would meet up and harmonise together with their guitars, they would also write great songs and before long, they were together in a band with George Harrison called: 'The Quarrymen'. John thought 'The Quarrymen' wasn't a good name so he changed it to: 'The Silver Beatles', then finally: 'The Beatles'.
Paul and John wrote nearly all the songs on every single Beatles album including the first ever album: 'Please Please Me', my favourite song on that one on the first song: 'Love Me Do' because the harmonies are so easy to sing and John's great on the harmonica.
After the success of The Beatles, Paul went on to do different things. In the late '70s, he formed a band with his soulmate Linda called: 'Wings', they had hits such as: 'Silly Love Songs', 'Band On The Run', 'Live And Let Die', and my all time favourite: 'Mull Of Kintyre', I do hope to record that song someday with my band. He collaborated with many other singers including Stevie Wonder on 'Ebony and Ivory' and Michael Jackson on 'Say Say Say' and 'The Girl Is Mine'.
Some people think that Paul McCartney is a big-head for all the things he has done in the past. I disagree on this, all he did was make a living out of music, yes, of course, there would be some ups and downs, but in my opinion, even at his lowest when poor Linda died of breast cancer, he picked himself up and carried on living, now that is brave. He has been through a lot, especially John gone as well, that must've been hard for him. The best thing is: He's never stopped, he's still singing and on the 26th August this year, he is returning for a gig at the club where it all started: The Cavern Club in Liverpool, a truly great place.
